YAMAHA Part Number is 5GH-13440-50-00. This is the same oil filter as the FZ-07 and the FZ-09. Yamaha is doing us all a huge favor by keeping it simple! The following are also all compatible. And before anyone starts pointing out a favorite, remember that more important than brand of filter or oil is actual Frequency of oil and filter change. Post your experience with a supplier, manufacturer or dealer that went out of their way to service you. Let us know what they did and how that became exceptional. Your subject should be the name of the product.

The Tutoro Trek automatic chain oiler! I wanted to get an oiler as I ride year round, all weather. Being Canadian, this means the majority of my riding involves rain, slush, snow, road salt, sand, and all sorts of other nasties. I was cleaning and lubing my chain approximately twice weekly (necessary, as it'd be rusty and salty crusted within days) and that was just an enormous pain in my ass. There were several options (also Scottoiler and others) but I went with the Tutoro due to its innovative design. Unlike Scottoilers and others, it doesn't need to tie into your bike's electrical or vacuum systems. It can be mounted anywhere, and is dead simple. It's inter…

I feel that I owe it to Dave at Vcyclenut to write this review, not just for the excellent product but going above and beyond with service. In short, Dave's ECU flash is amazing. The bike is smoother everywhere and has noticeable power gains when paired with the Akrapovic racing carbon system. Of course having the throttle restrictions removed (mainly 2nd gear) also opens up more riding options as you have roll-on power in every gear. However, I had MPG problems that popped up; alarmingly low MPG after the flash. This led me to believe the flash was bad, or at the very least running rich. I contacted Dave through email and explained the low MPG after the flash.…

Some bikes are worse than others when it comes to wheel spacers falling out at the worse possible time when re-installing wheels. The MT-10's rear wheel is notorious for oem spacers popping out when trying to do the brake caliper-axle-spacer alignment movement. Captive spacers make that problem go away, so Graves Motorsports to the rescue! Their spendy but exquisite black-anodize Captive Spacers for the Yamaha R7 are an exact fit. The front spacers (left) are already installed in this pic; the rear spacers on the right. Rear Captive Spacer p/n is: W-WWY-21R7-23 They look much larger than factory, but again, they are an exact fit:

Greetings, thanks in advance for your time. Hope the weather is as lovely with you as it is here (West Coast Canada) I have a 2015 Fj-09, beautiful bike in so many ways. I do have a problem though - it feels like I am holding my arms out all the time. It is almost like they are not relaxed, and my shoulders get tired. In the twisties, when I forget about it, it is kind of ok, but in a straight line it is almost an effort to have my arms out.It doesn't feel natural ( I think the FJ was built for six footers) I am 5'8" I have read lots and lots of threads on handlebars, but I haven't come to any definitive solution, and many changes involve rerouting cables/ …

Saw the Dunlop press release on all the major sites. Any reason to think this would be a better tire for an FJ/Tracer compared to a Roadsmart or Pilot Road, etc.? Dunlop’s Mutant Tire Adapts To All Terrains And Conditions Nightcrawler’s grip with Wolverine’s...

My 2017 FJ09 that I purchased used last year came with a 50 L top box, and a hideously ugly passenger backrest pad. I'm looking to replace it with the proper backrest. I've found 2 different part numbers for it: Part # PP-F84B0-T0-00, $73 USD at partzilla (https://www.partzilla.com/product/yamaha/2PP-F84B0-T0-00) Part # 37P-F84U0-B0-00, $138 CAD from the online store of my local dealership in Toronto, Canada (https://snowcity.com/Search-Parts/adid/29711114/50-L-Top-Case-Passenger-Backrest-Toronto-ON/) They look identical, and I'm pretty sure that after the exchange rate and shipping costs the one from partzilla will still be significantly cheaper. I'm just …

Hi, I just got a Sargent Seat for my FJ 2016. Took about 3 weeks ... yet finally got it. I tested it for a short ride, about 45 mins, one hour. I did not felt big difference vs the stock one... got a bit surprised. I'm 1,91 mts, 130 Kgs ... body weight I assume is a factor, on seat performance / perception; for the $ I payed I expected more indeed... I read great reviews on this one, compared with the uncomfortable stock seat that for long rides is not good, compared to the Sargent one. The seat instruction says that it might need an "adaptation" time... I assume to have the body mold a bit? I'll test it today on a 3 hour ride and check if it improves...

I'm a very firm believer in headlight modulators, and have used them for at least 25 years. My friend Andy who owns Kisan Tech asked me to help him develop a HLM for the FJ-09 but it will work on the new Tracer and most newer Yamaha with LED headlights. Look at the link and you'll see how it installs. My 15 FJ was the test mule. I can ask Andy if he'll do a group buy price for the forum (I should post on the FZ forum too). BTW, while the HLM unit itself is tiny, with its short harness, it's down in a crowded area if you've swapped to Speigler brake lines, so per my request, he'll also make one with a longer harness for those who want to tuck it up higher. LM…

Not a review, but there's not really a "motodeals" section in the forum or a tire section. Just ran across these while shopping tires. $150 for a set, these were released in 2021 as Kenda's entry into the sport touring segment: https://www.motosport.com/kenda-km1-tire-combo?variant[KDAA015]=KDAA015-X001-Y001&variant[KDAA016]=KDAA016-X001-Y002 Amazon reviews are positive with 4.5/5 out of 84 reviews: https://www.amazon.com/Kenda-Touring-Motorcycle-70ZR17-Keychain/dp/B09QXLG1Y8 Not really seeing much else in the way of reviews, but their dirt heritage is pretty positive so I've heard. Maybe someone here with more experience in powersports can chime i…

Hey all, Trying to fix my bike after a dump. Looks like I got pretty lucky but having trouble choosing parts I need. First, it's a 2020 Tracer 900 GT. The exploded pics are pretty confusing. I think it's "6" "cap, grip upper 2d2-26281-02-00" in exploded view pic but doesn't show where mirror screws in. Any help would very much appreciated.

I came across a video on you-tube discussing all the ways we can damage our necks and our life by landing on our heads. How many of you wear a neck brace while riding on the road. Pretty long video so jump ahead to the 9 minute mark if you want to see the testing... Can a neck brace make a difference?

Hi fellow tracer riders! Recently purchased my very first bike and it was a Tracer 900 2018. And to give some context for my title, im a quite large fella standing at 2m (~6ft6") and I was looking to customize my new treasure with some ergo adjustments. I want my arms and shoulders to have a more comfortable position and I was looking at installing risers. And my second note is for the lower parts... footpegs, to free up my knees a bit. I'm seeking advice from other well built riders if you have any experience to what brand for either risers or footpegs. Is there pegs I can install without having to adjust brake/shift lever and if I install risers, do I have t…

I noticed the SHAD SH36 side cases were in short supply. I guess they are making room for the new SHAD SH38X side cases due out in April. I have the SH58X top case and love its expanding feature. Would like to add the SH38X side cases but the initial cost is outrageous to start. Luckily they work with the 3P mounting system used for the (SH23?), SH35 and SH36 side cases, so they may be an option down the road. They also work with the 4P mounting system for off-roading. The SH38X side cases are approx 50W x 39H x 27-34mm Deep, whereas the SH36 are approx 50 x 38 x 33 mm. See videos at bottom of link page... Shad 38X Expandable Side Cases SHAD …

Just wanted to share my experiences in installing a new chain and sprockets on my 'vintage' 2015 Tracer which I'll say up front went without any real problems for me. (Some of this info in other posts within the forum.) Did I need to change the chain and sprockets? They were getting worn but to be honest, not really. But I wanted to and the new chain was 'GOLD' so, good enough reason for me. 🙂 What I installed: - D.I.D (Japan) 525 VX3 gold chain (124 links initially) ESJOT (German) Counter sprocket steel (not cushioned) - 16 tooth (standard) ESJOT Rear sprocket steel - 46 tooth (1 more than standard) Process order (for me): - …

I have the 39l version & have just bought the 50l version on eBay. It was advertised as having no lock & thought it wouldn't be a problem to get one. However, the new lock ends in 2 screws to attach a metal T piece which locates in a rectangular slot in the top case to lock it. My Yamaha dealer says this part isn't available as it comes with the top case. Photos of the part I need attached. Yamaha part no. 52s-21780-09-00 is what I need & their website shows the lock barrel with the T piece. My dealer has one in stock but there's no T piece. I've seen plenty of top cases with no lock advertised for sale so I'm sure I'm not the first to have t…

Howdy, ordered the Yamaha lower links to help me feel more secure when at a stop. Dealer installed them yesterday and I'm really pleased with the results. Both of my feet are flat on the ground and I feel much more in control at stops!

I've always had crash guards on my bikes and my 17 FJ09 came with Shogun frame sliders. Will they save the fuel tank? If I do lay over the bike will fuel spill out? I'm not opposed to doing a test lay over.

I don't use bags , so this part of the tail section is too bare. Couldn't air tech or some body work company make an OEM looking body work, and wrap around the tail light ?

I've mentioned and queried before if anyone had tried a shift shaft brace that supports the somewhat long splined shaft to which the shift lever linkage rotates while at the same time applying a lateral force. Not the shaft is THAT long that the shift action creates a significant torque moment arm effect but I can't see the brace doing any harm. The brace shaft hole has a close tolerance needle bearing inside that I lubed, and the gold cone washer I happened adds some bling that matches the forks. I'll report back but I doubt I'll be able to discern a difference. You like my shift lever peg rubber? Do I have it upside down?
