Hey folks - Looking for a hand, or connection or advice… So it’s Day 3 of the trip, picked up a nail in the rear and of course the shops are closed for the next 2 days. Have plug kit but the tread is getting hammered so was thinking maybe someone local might have a tire I could buy? I can change it no worries about that just need a rear tire new or used, just needs to be good for minimum 500-1000 miles. We’re headed west towards the coast, and north of Portland OR tomorrrow. Used or new, Rear in a 180/55-17. Any leads appreciated. PM me and we can connect via phone/text or post here, Cheers. Skip

Anyone in San Diego up to get together for a day ride? Where? Depends on where ya'll are. I'd suggest either a Sunrise Highway loop or Mt Palomar. Either is good for me. I could be up for lunch in Palm Desert with a run down and up SR74. I'm in Scripps Ranch (near Poway).

Now that I have a '22 T9GT, curious if there are any upcoming rides or meetups for Tracer/FJR/MT or non Yamaha folks? If you're a COG rider, I'm planning to take my T9GT to the rally in Canyonville OR in early June. Probably will head to OR coast early in the week, attend rally for a few days, then end of rally week make my way back up through southern to central OR back into WA. Hoping to make some day or weekend trips before or after the rally either to BC, OR or even ID.

Does anyone here know the status of the fire that has been going on in Trinity County? Cal Fire states that it's 97% contained. Does anyone know the road conditions, air quality and or accessibility around 36, 3 and 299 out towards Eureka coming from Red Bluff? Thanks in advance.

I've been looking to do a weekend trip down to Baja Mexico from the Orange County area at some point later this year for a change of scenery. I've seen a lot of videos on Youtube of people riding past beautiful looking bays that are further down south or require lots of off-roading to get to but since I'm riding a Tracer 9 GT and limited to 2 days to get there and back, my options are a bit more limited. Ideally, I'd use the first day to head out somewhere and stay the night then spend the following day doing some mild exploring and then ride back home. Has anyone tripped around North Baja and can comment on good places to ride and visit?

I saw an FJ-09 in Julian today, back country San Diego. About 11:15am. At the Julian Beer Company. I saw it on the move, and later parked right in front of our dining spot. I'd have said hi but couldn't identify the rider. I was caging - getting much needed food and beer after a trail run out of Banning. Raise your hand if it was you.

Since reservations are longer needed for Yosemite, Im planning a loop ride on 120 up 395 to either 108 or 4. It is gonna be a overnighter. The question is where to stay on 395. So any recommendations would be appreciated and anyone that wants to go along is welcome.

Hi group, was wondering if there was/is a Western region meetup or thing as such? Not exactly sure what the details would be. But I am interested to see if anyone wants a reason to get out the house for a weekend trip with/without the significant other. I have attended a few of these types of meet ups (Ducati and Honda forums) and always had a great time meeting forum members in person. However, the meets I attended were always local, never had to travel more than an hour or so. If anyone is interested, please feel free to reply!

It looks like we are moving very soon. In all the discussions we had, two things I stood my ground on….fair size garage and good roads near by. Im getting both…..30x50x14, 3 rollup door building. And the roads. We will be close to Chico. A whole new set of road and towns to explore. Been looking at all the roads up there. Its been over 20 years since Ive been on 36, 3, 96, and other roads in that general area. Then the roads east of Chico. Ive never ridden in that area so this is gonna be fun. Its gonna be really great riding this year. I just got to make sure I get my 108, 4 loop done before the final move.

Welp.. a few weeks overdue.. but back in March I had texted my brother who lives in WA (I live in southern OR) a pic of a 2020 Tracer 900 GT I was buying. I sold my Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 late last year and had been eyeing the Tracer for some time. He had a BMW 1200 RT. Long story short and he texted right back and said he was eyeing the same bike! True brothers! He sold the BMW and now we have identical bikes Anyway, I've trailered my bike up there a couple of times for some short, local rides but we were finally able to spend a long weekend together in late August and planned a route down through Central OR and up the coast.. He rode down through John Day…

Been up to the pac NW a couple of times now solo and this time the wife will join me. It's been years since we did a longer trip together on the bike. But since our 3-day Memorial Day weekend romp through the Trinity Alps went well we decided to give it a go! Plan is to zip up in two days from the Bay Area, stay in Portland for three days, then 4 day dawdle back down the coast. Two-up this time so won't be able to do any of those killer 400+mi corner carving days. Already planning a day to Mt St Helens. Other two days are up in the air but will probably spend time in the Columbia River gorge on one of them. Any other suggestions from the OR/WA crew?

Just a FYI......did my sierra loop ride yesterday, another easy 400+ miles. Its is for sure vacation time. More cars up there, Travel trailers being towed, class a&c rvs. And in the undivided part of four at the top......tar snakes are out. Thought I had a problem with the bike until I realized it was tar snakes being somewhat slippery. Love my chair......

Monitor Pass on 89 is now open. It sounds like we'll have an early opening of Sonora and Ebbett's this year due to lack of snow pack. Anyone else waiting patiently to make a trip up here?

So, Kevins ride report got me thinking about visiting places and roads I have not been be to in years, try decades. One of those places is Yosemite Valley. Thinks its been thirty years or more. Starting May 21, reservations are required to enter Yosemite park. FYI, those reservations go on sale April 21. So I was thinking of a Picnic day ride to the valley before May 21. When depends on weather, but fore sure not this week. Google map indicate roughy 4hrs, 200 miles one way. I was thinking on leaving San Jose around 6am, getting to the Valley around 10am, find a spot, eat relax and depart around 2pm. Anyone interested let me know. No firm da…

I don't think it's too early to start planning this. As some of you know I like to take a traditional "Last Ride of the Year" every December 31. This isn't a group ride, per se, but rather a RTE (Ride to Eat) call where we converge on a scenic location to eat food, kick tires, admire farkles, and swap lies. This will be the fifth time I've called this ride. This year we'll need to consider how best to do this in the Age of 'Rona. I'm confident that regardless of what's going on we should be able to have some sort of safe, socially-distanced meet up. In 2016-2018 we met at a little diner in Oceanside, on Cape Meares just west of Tillamook. Last year we met at Mo's in…

Fighting ennui and avoiding more conflict with my teenager, it came time to get the heck out of the house and press reset on my head. The election was just announced, we can all move on, and so on Saturday I looked at google maps and purposely chose somewhere I've never been. Turns out, I've never been on Vashon Island, which is somewhat surprising given that I lived for years on neighboring Bainbridge Island, travel incessantly, and well, have poked around most places here in the PNW. So it was decided. To Vashon I go. The not fun part is that form Oly you drive slab up to Point Defiance, where the ferry is. You don't technically have to take I5, but I didn't have …

A little over thirty years ago Mt St Helens blew its top in an epic steam explosion. For those of us living in the Pacific North west, it was a life changing event... to say the least. Everyone I know has a story to tell, all a little different, but all sharing in that amazing and terrifying event. For those of us living among, skiing on and climbing the volcanos of the PNW, this awesome and catastrophic event was something that will never be forgotten, and for some of us, still being experienced though visiting the mountain. I try to ride up to Windy Ridge interpretive site, where the road now ends near the bottom of the vast crater, and near the slowly regenerating…
