  1. I'm looking at the pictures , I like the powder coated rims. But not painting the nose IMO makes the bike look cheap, mine is painted the same color as the tank and I like that look better. Same thing with the handgaurds , they should have painted them like my 16. But they painted the front fender and side panel where on my bike its not, which I never liked.
  2. It seems they put standard some of the things I paid for. If I remember right I paid $200 for heated grips, about $125 for kako throttle lock, seat about $200 and hard bags with the mounting bracket was $ 1000. Not sure if I would want a longer swingarm or a quickshifter. I guess a longer swingarm is better for highway riding . But back roads I'm not sure. How much more is the Tracer GT ?
  3. So what's the difference between a FJ-09 and a Tracer GT ?
  4. Still riding here in NY , my playground is 100- 150 miles north of NYC. It seems to be a fast fall, leaves seemed to have changed faster. I did about 300 miles sunday. It was about 45-50 degrees with the heated gear I had no problems. So no complaining yet !
  5. I use my Pitbull stand while the bike is on the center stand with no issues.
  6. When I was on the FZ1OA board we use to have a big rally every year down there. We stayed at Fontana Damn resort, was a great time. I think they still do it actually but the first few years there was 100 FZ1s all over the place, took ALOT of planning
  7. The best way to pick up the front end is a Pit bull front stand . It hooks in to the frame, I can take off the forks and tire no problem. I wouldn't mess with books and cinderblocks , but that's me
  8. This is part of the fun when I get a new bike , modding it to my taste. I see alot of guys putting pipes on and reflashing the ECU , I did the seat first (seat concepts) and second was the suspension . That Penske 8983 transformed the bike very nicely , I'm having a Penske 8975 built for my Suzuki from Taxxion .
  9. Took a ride out east to Montauk Point NY this summer
  10. I don't like to change the gearing at all!! Yea it might make the bike feel better down low but when you're in 5th and 6th , you might not like the change there. When I bought my Tuono the first owner lowered the gearing( I bought the bike with 900 miles.. killer deal). Yea the bike burst out of the hole nicely had great low end grunt but on the highway the bike felt like it was racing . The gas mileage really suffered, so I went back to stock and I loved it. Point of the story think about how the bike will change in ALL the gears when you change the gearing.
  11. Your thread touches me as I am a widower too. I lost my wife 11 years ago to breast cancer, I still miss her to this day... Sorry for your lost.
  12. 64 on the dragon is pretty fast for that road. The cop probably thought he was saving your life
  13. Well really it was yesterday, all I did was ride the hell out it. The FJ felt sooo good , I did about 500 miles all over farm country in NY state.
