  1. Much more relaxed and comfortable. I’ve got a ratshit knee too. I’d say a close to 90° bend
  2. If you are handy with a relay you can always wire it in so the headlight turns off with a press of a starter button so it still functions the same as stock too. A simple changeover relay will do the trick.
  3. It’s very roomy and comfy, I’m 6’2 and have lots of space, sitting or standing. The seat is firm but comfortable. Just fit up a nice carbon muffler which sounds amazing.
  4. The colour scheme is absolutely spot on, it looks brilliant! I wasn’t a big fan of the gold wheels but they have grown on me and I love them now. Only downer is the front guard is black instead of white. But that is an easy fix.
  5. Goodbye guys! My lovely tracer was traded in on a new T7. Sad days as I absolutely loved that engine but I feel like I did well to ride it for so long without a ticket or a free pair of bracelets! 😂 I shall still pop in from time to time to say hi and answer questions. I have the genuine Yamaha rack for sale too if anyone needs it in Australia. I feel like shipping would be exorbitant. Keep the rubber side down and I’ll see you out there!
  6. You can get away without replacing the shaft. They usually last a very long time. I would definitely be replacing the seals and o rings and inspect shaft when removed. They are easy to replace. Just take not of seal direction etc and maintain squareness when pushing seals into required depth.
  7. My hydraulic clutch is going straight on! I’ve got a sw motech stand on the way. They are usually good quality. Cheers for the list mate.
  8. Cheers for the replies guys! Got some bits on the way already. That’s the fun part but it hurts the wallet! 🤣
  9. So I did a thing! Went for a 1/2 hour ride on the T7. Stupidly smooth motor. Basically zero vibes at all, quite odd! Still got a bit of punch but it isn’t a Mt-09 motor! The seat is firm but comfortable, bars are in the right spot and ergos feel spot on sitting or standing. Yamaha still cannot make a quiet screen though! 🤣 The instruments wobble around a bit which is my only gripe. But apparently there is an aftermarket fix already. Got a reasonable trade in price for the old girl. Pick up the new steed on Monday. Feel a bit stupid selling a perfectly good motorcycle but I fell in love with the tenere as soon as it came out. Spent the arvo pillaging the good bits like the hydraulic conversion, Brembo master cylinder and the top box. Ill sell the genuine rack, rear sets etc when I get a second. @skipperT what bits do the stealership assemble so I know what to specifically go over when I get home?
  10. The amount of bagging out I’ve done to Ktm’s after working on them for years would have me institutionalised by my mates if I ever owned one! I simply cannot trust them nor give them a dollar of my money after they bought my favourite company Gasgas and turned them into another variety of lemon. I think they’d be a fantastic bike to race on someone else’s budget.
  11. If you were in Oz I’d give you mine. Got spares in a box. I bloody hate thieves. Should cut off their balls with a blunt spoon. 😂
  12. Simplification but yes. Everything needs to be torqued to spec and sometimes the retaining bolts need a little heat to break the loctite hold.
  13. Yeah, I’ve done about 90,000k’s on the old style tenere with supermotard wheels and had a stupid amount of flats which we’re always fixed on the side of the road. I have seen a few tubeless kits around for the wheels. I absolutely love the tracer’s engine but if I am completely honest the bike never really fit me all that well. I have lower rear sets and a tall seat to just get by. I was heading out for a test ride today and the skies opened up. So I went home as I want some good weather to try the bike out in. Not struggling to see 6 metres in front of me! 🤣 Cheers for the replies guys!
  14. You haven’t just lubed or had the clutch cable lubed have you? That stuff can leech out for a while…
  15. So, new bike itch is kinda sinking in. The big tracer just isn't getting its legs stretched anymore as I am only doing a short commute now. I think its pure luck that beasty motor hasn't got me locked up yet either. I had a Tenere 660 previously that I loved and put over 90,000k's on, so I am happy with the riding position etc. My question is has anyone done a similar down/side grade and is happy with it? I loved the idea of a Mt-07 motor in an adventure frame the second it came out. The only thing that bugs me is going back to fixing tubes on the side of the road rather than jamming a quick rope plug in there. They are pulling silly money at the moment though so it's gunna hurt! There is absolutely nothing wrong with the Tracer I kinda just want something a little higher, comfier and better on fuel. Thoughts?
  16. Because they probably just slap the throttle bodies on when they build it and leave the labour up to the end owner to pay for. For what it’s worth Yamahas are normally set pretty good. Suzuki are almost always out with the air bleed screws jammed shut.
  17. Hahaha shit, way to break my heart! 🤣 I do wonder if riding style makes a difference. I don’t valve bounce like I used to and much prefer to use the abundant torque of the engine. It is probably a once every couple of months if that when it gets ridden in anger! 😂
  18. Thought I was having a f’ing stroke. Thanks for that! 🤣🤣🤣
  19. Come on Skip my valves are still in spec at 50,000ks! 🤣 I know I’m one of the rare ones!
  20. Check the parts diagram. The generic bearing numbers are usually part of the Yamaha part number. ‘6204’ etc… The Yamaha part number is 93306-20352 which usually correlates to a 6203 bearing. I would opt for a 6203-2rs which is the double rubber seal version. You can pull the wheel and pop out a dust seal to confirm.
  21. It could just be a faulty cap and pooling there too. I’d be topping up giving it a good clean and run it up to temperature a few times. You may have to inspect it with a small mirror.
  22. I have not done it yet, but was wondering about the Barkbuster Storm hand guards. I put those on my KLR and loved them. I'm not sure if the "frame" is long enough to reach around the switchgear controls. I just fit up a set of their single end mount ones. Nice and solid and clear all the aftermarket mastercylinders I have fitted. Great hand/storm protection.
  23. I just did mine, I got a small bubble over the 12/13k and one over the std power indicator. The material really doesn’t like moving or releasing bubbles when you lay it down, you can really only see them if you are looking for it with the screen on. I opted to do the main screen only! I also noticed the ribbon plug for the second screen so in theory you could source a second hand one and just plug the second screen into your cluster and keep your k’s etc. That’s after you redo the first screen if it’s bad enough.
  24. Can you post up some photos? Mine literally just turned up. Was it hard to see the two layers on the right hand screen? The instructions say to just peel off the first layer. They forgot to send me the blue tint I ordered to go along with the flip. 😟 Apparently they give you a replacement sent at 50% off if you make a boo-boo.
  25. What did you do to stuff it up? I only ask as I have a colourclusterz display on its way to me too! I know Suzuki could reset k’s etc but I haven’t seen Yamaha ever do it. Feel for you mate. No aftermarket option will ever come close to the stock option, definitely not plug and play. I have wired up hundreds of aftermarket speedos and they are just ok. Bare minimum sort of info. Do the hunt for a second hand one.
