All my years of riding in Florida and I've never come across a gator on the bike. Golf course... yes. My yard... yes. I have, however, encountered many Gator fans though.

That sounds like a good fit for him. He needs to leg-over one to see if it will work. He rented a Honda Africa Twin and the riding position suited him. I'd imagine the Tenere 7 would be similar. Thanks.

My nephew has knee issues, so he can't do an aggressive bend at the knee for long sustained rides. How does the seat-to-footped distance compare to the FJ?

I stick with Tour Master Solution waterproof boots. Pretty comfortable for walking and keep the feet dry.

Shoei GT Air 2 Bonafide TC-5 is my current helmet. I love the drop-down sun visor and Pinlock Anti-Fog lens.

Joe Rocket Phoenix Ion Mesh most of the year as a FL rider. Joe Rocket Crossfire Textile jacket for the colder days. Both available in tall sizes, which is a must for my arm length.

I have the small Givi tank bag with tank ring mount. The ring is supposed to fit all Givi bags, but not sure if it works with other makes.

Congrats on the new Tenere. Would love to hear some feedback on that bike, specifically the ergos. My nephew is strongly considering one.

I also ran the Shinko 705's on my 2013 KLR650 and had great results with performance and mileage. As for the FJ-09, it's always been the Dunlop RoadSmart 2's, but more recently the RoadSmart 3's. 6,000 miles out of a set.

Yep, mine has been on the trailer and truck bed for sure. My preference for bike trips to the mountains. Ride up in comfort, A/C, stereo, etc.... then unload it and ride the PI$$ out of it for the 3 days. Load it back up and drive home.

I just used a couple rubber O-rings, one on each side behind the knobs. Never had a problem with them coming loose again.

I'm headed to that area in July. Leaving from my brother's place in Dover, OH. Probably run US250 a good bit of the way. Looks like it was a great ride for you. 👍

Looking good! I too have a shorter, dark-smoke windshield and opted to go with the bar end mirrors. Much better view and reduces the blindspots. Mine are CRG Hindsight lane-splitters.

After I removed the handguards I noticed a lot less buffeting/wobble at Interstate speeds of 75-85mph.

My 2017 FJ-09 still has the original battery at 17.5k miles. If it has been idle for too long it is a little slow to fire. Starts quickly if it's come right off the battery tender, or if I have been riding for consecutive days.

Solo riding for me only. I'm 6'7"/260lbs, so a passenger would be a tight squeeze. Fork springs and rear spring are pretty much maxed-out to stiffest settings.
