  1. Went for a great ride with my youngest son. He is 32 and rides a 2015 Kawasaki Ninja 636. While the ride was thoroughly enjoyable, as it always is, we switched bikes for a while. I was quickly reminded that I am 63 years old and no longer can bend myself into the shape of a pretzel. Once back on my FJ-09 I remembered why I bought it. This is a great bike. Performs well, is comfortable and I can sit on it like a human being. Having said all that, I would ride any bike just to keep my riding relationship with my two sons. Those are great times, no matter what bike you are on.
  2. I installed a Evotech radiator guard. It was fairly straight forward, even without any instructions. You have to pull off most of the front bodywork To get to where it mounts. But it is not difficult and I feel it is worth it. I looks nice and appears that it will protect the radiator from all but the biggest rocks or debris.
  3. Just a word of caution. The oiled drain plug is very vulnerable on these bikes. It and the guard, which is cast into the lower cases, can fairly easily be broken or hit hard enough to crack the cases. You might want to take a look at it to see what I'm talking about. I hope all is well with your bike though. Those kinds of roads are great on these bikes. Ride safe.
  4. Great idea. I'll check it out. The silver does stand out a lot.
  5. Installed a Powerbronze chin fairing. It is made in the UK, so it took a couple weeks to get here. But, it was well packaged and well made. The install is fairly straight forward, once you figure out which mounting brackets go where. It fits nicely and I think, adds to the sporty appearance. It may even protect the pipes some, from rocks and stuff. Plus, I think it might help direct air flow to the radiator.
  6. Installed evo-tech fork and rear axle sliders. Installed SW-Motech, crash bars and second OEM electrical plug in. Mounted new Garmin GPS, to handlebars. Put on my twenty year old Tour Master tank bag. Replaced stock rear tire, with a Dunlop Road Smart II. Added a battery charger plug in.
