  1. Thanks for the advice. I removed coil packs two and three by hand but had to use double-hinged pliers and shop towels as a fulcrum to leverage coil pack number one.
  2. I want to change my spark plugs but cannot remove the coil packs. Does anyone have any tips on the removal of coil packs?
  3. The Battery on my 2015, which was purchased in May 2016, went dead yesterday 3/27/19. I think that I will get a new battery rather than trust the old one.
  4. Strange, I just saw this four month old thread today. Could it be that others have not seen this thread?
  5. These worked for me with my 7/8 inch engine guards: http://www.ebay.com/itm/7-8-Black-3-Piece-Motorcycle-Frame-Clamp-Exhaust-Foot-Pegs-Lights-Speakers/152140274622?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 I did use some aluminum tape to sung them up a bit before tightening them to the bars.
  6. +1 I just received my Givi gards and measured them... exacly 25mm (~1") OD... so 1" peg clamps should work, no? Which guards are we talking about that are 7/8"? Crazy Iron guards are .876 inch OD according to my micrometer. With 1 inch OD guards you should have many highway pegs from which to choose.
  7. Pic's or it didn't get upgraded. Which pegs?Bikemaster pegs 7/8 to 1 inch. I have attempted to shim these with a tube liner. I will know after test ride.
  8. While installing the highway pegs I found that either the guards are not exactly 7/8" or the pegs clamps are slightly too large to grip firmly the guards. I will need shims.
  9. I bought one of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lidlox-Grip-Tip-Helmet-Lock-for-Yamaha-FJ09-Black-/121903708708 It works really well for short trips into the store etc. But would not be good on rainy days.
  10. Let us know which pegs you're considering. I want pegs on my Givi bars... really like the all-black fully adjustable Kuryakyn-style (not at Kuryakyn price though). What is the diameter of your guard bar? Givi is 22mm... a bit small for a 1" clamp. I ordered these: https://www.ebay.com/i/331574516750?chn=ps&dispItem=1 I like these but they are out of stock: http://www.twistedthrottle.com/r-g-highway-pegs-for-7-8-inch-diameter-crashbars?gloc=1&gclid=CjwKEAjwgtTJBRDRmd6ZtLrGyxwSJAA7Fy-hFJZZu9BzlaHikato694RjF3vZ2H_qBrRGKjK9tK36xoCK6jw_wcB
  11. I installed my Crazy Iron engine guards. I should say almost completed the install. I could not remove the bolt that goes all the way across the engine. I will need an impact wrench or need to take it to a shop. But meanwhile the guards should be sturdy enough to support highway pegs which is the intended purpose.
  12. I think the prices listed are in AUD. According to Tuneboy's website the tuneing kit and cruise control are $599 AUD which is $450 USD. There probadly would also be shipping. http://www.tuneboy.com.au/yamaha%20Denso/
  13. Contact Puig in Orlando Florida. They should be able to mail you some displacers which will solve the fitment issue. Others on this forum and I have had the same issue.
  14. fj09chris this kit looks like the one I installed. The hardest part was using a pocket knife to cut the plastic tab with the screw hole off the cruise control unit. But, I read the instructions nine times to memorize as best as possible all of the connections. Once installed you will really enjoy this cruise control.
  15. Looks... unique... and comfy. Are arm rests an option? With cruise control your idea of an arm rest option might work.
  16. Comfort is the main focus since it does not offer a wheelie enhancement option.
  17. I bought mine on Ebay from Motorcyclegear2 $164 shipped. It has the matt finish at the bottom. Those pics must be early production. I emailed Motorcyclegear2 and requested the displacer kit. It arrived in only 3 days.
  18. After reading the above I called my vendor and requested the hand guard displacer kit. It arrived today.
  19. 502mad, does the Corbin use the same contact points on the bike's seat mount, frame and subframe as the stock seat?
  20. IMHO in pic 3 it appears that the seat was made specifically for the FJ09. On red bikes without the side cases is another thing.
  21. The Corbin seat goes well with the gray bike and the side cases. It looks good.
