  1. Appreciate the idea but he's got a 19 Tracer and I've got the 15 FJ... Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the saddle mounting points are compatible?
  2. Like the title states, I'm hopeful someone has a Corbin or Sargent kicking around in Canada or the US (I have a US shipping address as I'm close to the border) and wants to sell. Ideally it has the Candy Red welting to match my FJ but black would be a-okay too. I added stiffer foam to my stock seat but still end up with numb butt after an hour of riding. Had a Sargent on my VFR and it was great but I do like the look of the Corbin too.
  3. How did you get your Tutoro to Calgary? Shipping seems like a bear from the UK...
  4. Can confirm YTZ12S will fit. Adds about 20 CCAs. Startup is a bit zippier. About same size as oem. Remove foam spacer as suggested.
  5. Visit Ottawa... I know of one... 🤣🤪
  6. To answer OP's question, I would try my best to run 91. It's pretty common across Canada to see it with the exception of the really out-of-the way spots. Even then, they're pretty likely to have Octane Booster. As you traverse our great land, familiarize yourself with this, Canadian Tire, the symbol of our common Auto parts store across the country. They sell Octane Booster, store brand (Motomaster) for $6.49 + tax Canadian. Since you'll be doing a reasonable stint through Canuckland, I'd just pick some up on the way. Bonus: many CTs have a gas station too. OTOH, they'll have Premium (91 Octane). Ride safe! Sounds like a great trip.
  7. If you're interested in Custom Earplugs, check out your local Costco with a Hearing Centre. Up here, they will make custom earplugs for around $60. I've had mine for 10 years now and love them. Yes, they make it more difficult to hear conversations but really, I don't wanna talk to anyone anyways.
  8. I have had my Synergy (1.0) jacket liner with heated collar for 11 years. Still using the original controller and just needed to replace the battery coax cable after it frayed at the connectors. This system gets poopoo'ed quite a bit but I haven't had any trouble with mine. Warm and wind resistant so it's a great base layer over a light moisture-wicking t-shirt or thermal wwhen it's damn cold (think 0C or 40F). Picked up a Warm n' Safe Waterproof Coloured Jacket Liner and cordless dual controller for my partner. She's always cold so we'll try this out. Folks at ADV Rider swear by them. Only thing is it's not wind resistant so she'll need a windblock. My advice is make sure you buy your heated gear snug as it needs to be close to your body to transfer warmth. It doesn't work if it's loose. Also, if you get cold easily, go with the full jacket liner rather than a vest, as others have mentioned.
  9. They do. It's $17 more than the Dino version and the bottles are gold coloured. https://www.yamaha-motor.ca/en/yamalube/motorcycles/yamaluber-10w-40-4t-performance-synthetic-oil-change-kit---mc-3-l/MCY-OILCH-KT-21
  10. I'm a Chunky Boi (250 without gear) and I always ride with the side bags. I average 4.4 L/100km or 52.5ish MPG. I ride spiritedly, hard off the line from time to time, love that triple acceleration! I'm lucky to have a gas station in town (Drummond's, local gas retailer) that always serves Ethanol-Free 91 Octane. I got slightly worse mileage on my '02 VFR800 and it ran on pump (87). Meh. I like the FJ far better.
  11. Exactly. We have only to blame the Squids and the Kid Racers... If you're doing 90 in a 50, you deserve to have the book thrown at you.
  12. Nice review - concise and to the point. Enjoy your new ride! I, too, have a 15 MY without any functional upgrades so will be watching the used market over the next couple of years in order to move on up!
  13. Speaking of Fortnine, picked up a set of Oxford Mondial pants from them when they were on sale earlier this spring. They've got venting in the thighs and so far they're comfortable AND come with attached suspended for all-day riding comfort. Supposedly waterproof but we shall see. They are replacing a one-piece TEIZ suit that has finally reached the end of its' useful life and Ghazi is no longer operating the business (too bad, he had good stuff). Only issue so far is they're a little snug (damn COVID weight).
  14. I picked up my '15 in Fall 2019 for $7000 CAD. It came with SHAD hard bags and the touring windscreen. It had 8500 kms on it at the time. As a few others have mentioned, the market is hot right now due to lack of new inventory. That said, $6500 USD plus dealer fees, etc. seems high. OTOH, it's COVID pricing and if it's what you really want...
  15. Kerosene in a spray bottle, wipe/rub chain down until all the grit and gunk is gone, then apply new lube to said sparkly chain. Typically get between 15,000 and 20,000 kms per chain so I'm happy. I have a grunge brush but it's in a box... somewhere out there...
  16. Can still get T31s out of Montreal from Pete's Superbikes for a bit more than the exchange (around $290 + taxes & shipping). Dunno what the shipping would be to Calgary but to Ottawa (2 hours away) it's $20. Nowadays, many shops out east here match Pete's and Fortnine's prices...
  17. Ok, ok. You're right. How about 15 to 17 are not interchangeable with the 18s and up? FWIW, I agree. Too many name changes!
  18. So here's a question for those in the know - is the 15 - 17 saddle the same as the Tracer/Tracer GT saddle from 18 - 20? According to the Chromeburner website, they would seem to be interchangeable (assuming you don't mind the 'Tracer GT' embroidery). Can experts chime in?
  19. Welcome! I'm right around the corner from you - down in Richmond! I have a 2015 FJ-09. Lemme know if you ever want to meet up for a ride!
  20. Welcome! I'm in Ontario too. Richmond (just outside of Ottawa). I have a 2015 Candy Red, mostly stock. Picked up from a private Kijij buyer last fall. Just put new Michelin Road 5s on it. Lovin' it so far!
  21. Ottawa folks wave - cruisers, crotch rockets, 3 wheeled, everyone. No slingshots though. 🤪
  22. I just purchased there from fleabay: FXCNC For Yamaha FJ-09 MT-09 Tracer 2015-2019 Fold Extend Brake Clutch Levers FJ-09/MT-09 Tracer 2015-2019. A Pair folding extending brake clutch... It seems FJ and FZ should be interchangeable. FMMV.
  23. Based on the instructions from the Admore site, it seems like: RED*= + 12V (switched); BLUE= Brake Light wire; GREEN= Right Turn Signal wire; YELLOW= Left Turn Signal wire; BLACK= Ground From your description, it seems like your red and blue are reversed.
