  1. For those that are getting high mileage on your OEM chain, what specification are you using for chain slack? Thanks.
  2. Understand your situation as I am about 5'7". I went with Sargent low seat and cut the rubber bumpers on the bottom of the seat pan in half. With this combination I am nearly flat footed.
  3. This year's weather patterns have been kinda weird in sw Texas so no telling what temps will be like late summer.
  4. BB might still be pretty hot in mid September.............but do have a blast. I'll probably go in October or whenever the temps are in the upper 80's or lower 90's.
  5. Never late for this party, welcome. Now if it would only stop raining all would be good.
  6. Its the nature of the beast, they all do it. After awhile I got used to it.
  7. We are lucky here in Texas..................just returned from a 1200 mile 4 day trip to west Texas namely Big Bend. It was perfect, temps 48-86 and sunny blue skies, Blue Bonnets 3 foot tall. The FJ ran as advertised, ran the twisties with ease and ate up IH10 smooth as glass. Went out 90 spent the first night in Alpine, next night Study Butte, rode River road and last night Fort Davis..............did the slab (IH10) on the way back to SA.
  8. Go to page 5 of this thread to see bar I made to keep soft bags stable and away from wheel at speed.
  9. Installing the Givi mount to the Yamie rack is simple. Under the cosmetic plastic cover of the Givi is honeycomb material which provides dozens of holes to pick up. Simply pick out the hole you want and drill hole(s) in Yamie rack for mount bolts.
  10. Givi mount on Yamaha rack. To keep soft bags stable at speeds made stabilizer bar.
  11. From what I understand, USA issue manuals are not available yet.
  12. Installed mirror extensions, great I no longer have to look at my arms. Also did a test ride with new CaliSc tall windshield, perfect in the low position nice and quiet no ram air noise.
  13. Actually, because most dealers are only getting a few (limited production) NM's they are selling. I believe if they catch on Honda may up production. Hate it or like it all I can is, it sure is fun to ride. It's expensive but what can you say? You can adjust the back rest to a lazy boy position. I'm not too crazy about the feet forward position. The top box is Kappa Moto K35NT, it's small at only 35 liters. I think they are made in partnership with GIVI because they share the same mount plate. I bought the second mount plate in Malaysia via ebay (best price).
  14. Top box fitted today, color matches FJ and NM4...........box works good on both bikes. Top box with touring bag which acts as perfect backrest and I am ready to hit the road.
  15. I got my Givi SV201 soft bags from ebay for 90 bucks no shipping no tax. They fit the FJ nicely, they are on the small size but with a top box you will have plenty room for any excursion.
  16. yup, highway 90 is 75 out there and Interstate 10 on the way to El Paso is 85.
  17. Coming to you from San Antonio, just minutes away from the Texas Hill Country a great place to ride and a good ride away from Big Bend National Park. Weather in the area is ride able year round just don't go to Big Bend May through September when it is hotter than a firecracker. Today 1/20 its gonna be 75 degrees.
  18. Added Shogun sliders, grip puppies, throttle lock and palm rest.
  19. Some of the things done last couple days. Driving lights, voltmeter, accessory outlet (wired hot to battery), extender.
