  1. Brp IS NOT the cool road. It's a federally patrolled road with a 45mph speed limit. IIt's all the little roads that run north/south off brp. 😛 for reals though, it's great here...but I sure do miss some California roads.
  2. You'll be in the heart of most of the good shit in Asheville. Little Switzerland will basically be your new home, even though you'll live in Asheville.
  3. this is com3 to the white courtes phone, how can i help you? hehe. i'm in mills river, about 12 miles from asheville. the riding out here is second to only california, imo. i've been here (from cali) for about a year now. you can ride pretty much year round. i too don't mind the cold... you'll get days in the 40s and stuff, but not really much below that. there'll be snow pattering the ground a couple times during the winter, but it doesn't stay longer than 2-3 days in my experience. BRP closes jan/feb or so... but that's not the good road for riding anyways. find me on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/joeasalas hit me up there of you want. i know most of the roads in the greater area...i've been venturing out towards virginia, west virginia, and kentuky lately finding more good roads.
  4. the only motorcyclists i've ever seen that were concerned about fuel economy have been FJ/tracer owners.. did you guys buy these bikes for the range? or for the ride?
  5. i have the higdonion skid plate now...no looking back for me, as it's the best!
  6. i'm in north carolina. i'm down to pay for shipping if need be thanks!
  7. 2015/16... Anyone got some stock rotors they wanna sell me? Front, btw. Thanks!
  8. that being said, i did go into the diagnostics of the FJ on the dash and went 1 value less on the APS config when i was chasing the surging issue. it smoothed out the throttle a tiny bit. didn't fix the surging. lulz. the top end limiter would be the only reason why i'd flash the bike, i think... but even so, the FJ sucks over 90mph, so what's the point in even that?
  9. Sweet! I'll be there for sure! With my center stand intact.
  10. Woot! Sorry I wasn't at this one to meet you personally! Glad you had a great time and learned some good stuff.
  11. Ehhh...everything was just a little wrong from factory... Haha! But no, they replaced the o-ring or something on recall...but since I run reverse shift, they put it back how it was, but screwed the bolt on from the backside instead of how it's supposed to be (threaded side out). Haha.
  12. Make sure your linkage is at a 90° angle for maximum engagement.
  13. Basically what @koth442 said. I prefer long sleeve and long pant underarmor. I really don't like the feeling of my leathers against bare skin. It just feels gross. Haha. Also, I have both winter and summer under armor...I.e., summer gear helps me stay cooler, etc. Cycle gear has their own inexpensive brand...and just about any dept style store (Wal-Mart etc) will have their house brand of similar type stuff... But you get what you pay for. If you want best of the best, my friend aliki makes the cream of the crop compression gear: https://vnmsport.com/
  14. You won't be disappointed! I'm not sure if I'll be at that school yet or not..I'll be at the homestead, Florida event at the end of Jan though.
  15. Haha! I was literally given that code last week. Haha!
  16. At YCRS, you can rent anything from an r3 to the mt and anything in between. We also have all the gear so you could just fly and ride.
  17. You ABSOLUTELY cannot go wrong with taking [nearly] any school. Investing in your riding is the best "mod" you can make to your bike. The best part is that it'll carry over to every single motorcycle you'll ever own for the rest of your life. I've been working with the champ school (YCRS with Nick) since 2008. I've been too several others as well, including the CASBK school... I'm a firm believer in the teachings and methodology of YCRS. they'll give you all the info. There's no "levels" or anything of the sort. Only ALL the info. where do you live? ...oh..And don't tell anyone, but use the code 4TR if you decide on YCRS for 10% off the top. (and no, I make nothing from referrals)
  18. I'm in Charlotte too! About a mile from noda. I got a red 15 fj with a top case.
  19. Hahaha! If the bazillion laps I've done at thill, I STILL don't know what water tower people are talking about... I use reference points that are close and easily identifiable...like for 9, over the blind crest, I divide the track into thirds mentally..I know I need to be on the right third every time at the crest. __|___|___|__ I need to be on that right most line above...make sense?
  20. the wind always pushes you down the front straight into 1 at thill. it's coming over 9 where you catch the wind at an angle when the bike is already super light. 😮
  21. With z2? I've probably ridden 700-800 days at Thunderhill. Haha. My buddy Ryan was doing the demo program there...I imagine that's what you did? I work with the yamaha school.
