  1. I got handlebar MTX Bluetooth internally amplified speakers with accessible control buttons, mounted perfectly in the unused space on the handlebars. Hard wired power to the bike, turns on and off with ignition switch and picks up where you left off after it pairs with your phone automatically. Should be fun.
  2. More orange for my bike! Neon orange wheel graphics along with reflective orange staggered rim tape to light up at night. Also added some Avon Trailrider tires.
  3. I'm near Charlottesville near the good mountain and rural riding.
  4. So straight pipe with a bit of a coffee can muffler that probably doesn't muffle much is the winner. Too bad it looks so bad but I guess that's what it takes.
  5. S.I.N. Strength In Numbers. But then it gets out of hand and they start pulling Korean couples out of their Range Rovers because they perceive their driving to be disrespectful after they surround motorists in a threatening way. That's why that mob riding stuff is something to avoid if it's a bunch of knuckleheads with an attitude that makes people want to run all motorcyclists over.
  6. In NYC/ Manhattan there are no lanes really. Traffic goes where it fits and bikes, motorized or not fit into much more spaces and can filter to the front. It is generally accepted there even though it's not specifically legal. You can get through heavy Manhattan traffic way better on 2 wheels.
  7. Don't do it in front of police, keep your eyes open. In heavy traffic why not if there is space. In less heavy traffic pretend like you are switching lanes back and forth. At stop lights pretend like you're using the turning lanes if they are empty and then just pop yourself in front of the first car acting like you were mistakenly in the turning lane but now realized you need to go somewhere else, or just accelerate faster then the first car when light turns green from turning lane. I would never do any of this though of course but I've seen other riders use these techniques.
  8. There wouldn't be anything too dramatic to see, computers work it all out for you no matter how abrupt you are on the controls.?
  9. Tcs is great, go onto wet grass and pin it, then jam on the brakes and abs will get you a controlled upright stop.
  10. On gravel roads you would want to lock up the back tire to get slowed. With abs needing to stop quickly you would have no braking and will end up in a tree or a ditch. Abs gives little braking on truly loose surfaces. If you ride sanely then yes just light braking will do the trick, but any type of riding over the limits of a 400lbs bike on gravel and needing to emergency stop or set yourself up for a hairpin and you will not want abs in this particular situation. Everywhere else on regular roads abs will probably save your butt in a panic braking situation. If you are engaging abs during regular dry weather riding then you ride like a maniac on the street. If it's engaged in wet weather with good tires then you are either emergency braking, not smooth enough on the brakes or there truly is very little grip for some reason like oil, sand or a slick surface like painted lines. When it engages when it's needed most riders will be happy it's there.
  11. Wow so that's the best dyno so far right? They have one with remote adjustable cable operated baffle. Wonder if similar results on that one. Do you know which model was used for this tune? They have a bunch. https://www.dan-moto.com/DM_INT/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=18_22_251
  12. Oh this is a different kind of 12 step program.
  13. Ride it at least 3000 miles it gets smoother as the engine breaks in.
  14. I now have the extremes of windshields. Givi provides huge bubble of still air and Ermax provides full wind. I'm 6 feet tall. I only had a little ride today with it but way better then the stock shield which buffets your head all over the place and is very noisy. This is loud to of course with no ear plugs but it's clean air like on a naked bike, not the BS stock screen that chops the air up in the worst way possible it is really horrible, I'll never ride with it again. So yes I'm happy with ermax screen and it makes you feel like you're on a sport bike which the FJ is able to do quite a good impression of from the saddle despite the marketing category of adv bike it is. You can also duck down into a usable bubble if you want, I kinda lay on my tank bag.Feels like a screen that is just like a sport bike with a double bubble screen. Wind cuts off about lower chest sitting upright so no head turbulence. Plus you can play with the adjusters and have it up or down.
  15. Haha I was just messing with putting these back when they fell out on me today while replacing my windshield from my winter Givi shield to my summer ermax sport satin grey. Anyway when you loosen the windshield up and down adjusters too much these can slide out of the track that they are meant to be squeezed into when tightened. There are 4 of them,2 on each side. They help the windshield mount slide up and down the track and they also locate and fix the windshield mount in place when tightened. Look for the other ones on the vertical parts that slide behind the windshield mount. Here's my ermax mounted.
