  1. Hate to break it to ya'll...but here in Arizona, the riding season is just getting under way. Highs in the low 70's/upper 60's during "winter" here!!
  2. Meh, forgive me. I meant bolts. And I havent looked at the bike to see what our dealio was. Regardless, I will be looking to clean it up this weekend.
  3. Thanks for the video...guess I know what I'll be doing this weekend. Will go to the hardware store and pick up the screws ahead of time.
  4. So, when on the FJ are you not on the throttle or over 80 mph? Asking for a friend... Have to get up there first right? Highway speed is usually 80-90. I keep it peaceful on the city streets. The Akropovic exhaust does its job in making me heard for at least half a mile away for ol' smoky to hear me and pick me up.
  5. I also have just recently had this issue arise as the temps started to drop here in Phoenix. For me it is 5th gear. Comes and goes. Seems to happen less when I'm on the throttle or over 80mph.
  6. Got Super Tenere blinkers installed, an RC carbon fiber front fender (installed my pyramid extender on it), and my new luggage setup from Hepco and Becker installed as well. Took a little of customizing, but I got the old givi luggage rack I had to work with the Hepco mounting plate.
  7. Holy shenanigans...seeing the picture from the rear of the foam pieces really shows the difference. I'm curious to hear how much improvement it is. Makes me wonder if I'd be treating myself too much with all that cushion!!!
  8. I think 2wdw said on the dyno they had one up in the range of 160s
  9. I finally had the recall completed yesterday. Took them almost a month to get the parts in.
  10. I called in, and was informed my bike was affected by this recall. Waiting for them to get the parts in and will make an appointment.
  11. zachd, are these footpegs holding up well? They're holding up like a champ, and I'm still loving them. Still no issues. Haven't been able to ride recently though....its been 110*F + here in Phoenix as of late. BARF
  12. I have my stebel mounted in the stock location and didn't have to extend any wires. I used the wiring harness suggested by Amazon for the install. No interference with any other lines. I ended up modifying the stock mount ever so slightly. IIRC, I had to drill out the oem mount ever so slightly larger to accommodate the oem bolt.
  13. Nope! haha. Found it from an online retailer for $860 shipped.
  14. Got my Two Brothers Black Series exhaust installed today. It's very loud, but sounds absolutely fantastic under WOT. And it looks downright sexy (Since running 100 miles on it, the header has a nice golden hue to it now). For longer multi-day trips, I am going to install a baffle, there's no way I'll survive otherwise. Here's the goodness:
  15. I like that OGIO tail bag. I went with a bigger option and got the Nelson Rigg CL-1040-TP. Its 29L expandable to 39L and fits the back seat pretty well. It can even hold a full face helmet when expanded. You can find some decent deals on Amazon for it if anyone is interested... http://www.amazon.com/Nelson-Rigg-CL-1040-TP-Black-Jumbo-Expandable/dp/B00AC6Y9S6?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages00 http://i.imgur.com/DByzxuI.jpg I've got the same bag. I used it on my FZ though, not the FJ. It's a great bag. I actually have done 3 day trips with it no problem. Crazy though....I bought the bag when it was only $86.
  16. Wow, impressive. Wessie....Don't emission restrictions suck? Here in Arizona, motorcycles, regardless of age, are never required to do any sort of emission testing. It's awesome! Heck, cars here aren't even required to do it until the vehicle is 10 years old.
  17. Thanks for the tid-bit. After reading this, I actually sent them an email saying I had bought the kit from Revzilla, and did not receive them in the package. Their reply: Hello Zachary: Yes please, email us the purchase receipt and we will supply the handguards displacer at no charge. Also, please confirm the shipping address. Thank you for your interest. Score!!! Thanks!
  18. Did you have to shift/remove the hand guards (top layer that it)? Yes, the top layers hit the windscreen, and had to be removed.
  19. Does the kit come with the nuts and bolts? It comes with is 3 strips of double sided tape (which are already applied to the part), and 4 push rivets. You'll need to supply your own 5/32 drill bit. Otherwise, this is probably the easiest part you'll ever install on the bike.
  20. Installed a fenda-extenda. Took all of about 5 minutes. No removal of any parts, simply drilled slowly using a 5/32 bit.
  21. No, West coast of the good ol U S and A. But drivers here are so glued to their phones and distracted it's awful. I like to be seen and be heard. A few close sideswipes was enough for me to determine I wanted a few extras to try and help prevent it as much as possible. I know there have been times since installing my driving lights that I could tell they've helped drivers see me. And the horn....well Holy Jesus it's loud as hell. I also do an excessive amount of night riding, and as of late I've been camping off the bike. So it's nice having the extra light at night going down dirt roads in the woods.
