  1. Thanks all for the input. I have searched Ebay and found a wheel with enough photos and description that I believe it is straight and has no issues. However, I have to swap everything over from my wheel as it is just the wheel. I did call about repair and they were helpful but the cost was understandably too high. Hopefully I'll be back to riding in a week or so.
  2. Well, after 6 years and 30,000 miles of fun I finally hit a pot hole and bent the rear wheel on this bike. Actually this is the first wheel on any car or bike I have ever bent. I have seen a few posts on here before about wheel repair just curious if anyone has ever actually done it? I called around the Chicago area and no one seems to repair motorcycle wheels, even the companies that advertised online that they repair motorcycle wheels said they don't when I called. I tried a couple of the local motorcycle shops and they said no. I don't see any wheels for sale in the For Sale threads right now. There are some on ebay that I'm watching, although that is a gamble.
  3. I too have ordered and started using the Shad Semi Rigid E48 side bags. Used them for a weekend trip this past weekend and had no issues. I didn't fill them all the way up enough to need the extenders as they are pretty large already. Overall they did exactly what I needed them to do. For the price I am happy with my purchase. At highway speeds that didn't move around at all, and it was pretty windy at times. I don't like that the lids don't really open up all the way. It makes packing it up a little more difficult. If anyone is considering buying these they are worth it. I also have the E22 tank bag. That I am not 100% satisfied with. I miss having some exterior pockets I have had on other tank bags. The tank bag install was a little rough with no real directions from Shad. I have the bottom clips coming out just above the seat and the top clips as high as I can get them. The bag is still pretty loose. It surprisingly held still for the trip but I would imagine if I have that thing packed up heavily and went to do some curvy roads the bag would be moving side to side. I'm going to try and get it tighter. Kinda wish I would have spent the extra $ on something with a tank ring. If the bag becomes a problem I may just modify it.
  4. I plan to use Rotella T6 as well. At 600 miles today, will do change after trip tomorrow.
