    No. You do have to take off the outer cover on the hand gaurd though. It is in the instructions they give you. So the hand gaurd are still on and work exactly the same. Just don't have the two screws and outer cover.

    Added a Madstad windscreen and a Corbin seat. Bike is way more comfortable now and no wind noise.
