  2. Getting up in the upper 90's and maybe even in to the 100's this week here so thought it would be a good time to start a Hot weather gear thread. If ya post your gear, pleas eshare at least a pic or link to the product. If not, I'll go thru and add links for ya so others can shop too. My summer jacket Revit Airwave from Revzilla Summer Pants Revit Airwave from Revzilla Summer gloves. I have a few pairs of gloves but really like these. Revit chevron gloves What are you guys and gals riding in this summer?
  3. Good to see these are available again. If interested, better buy before they sell out again!
  4. Noted, list updated and 198 taken off the list.
  5. Any other good eBay or Amazon finds? I keep looking for FJ-09 service manuals but haven't found u guys a good deal, yet!
  6. +1 As owner of this forum, I sometimes feel a responsibility to the safety of the people who read this forum. I have come up on riders who crash with regular boots or even worse, tennis shoes and man, it wasn't pretty for either. Gear is like Insurance. It's expensive if done correctly. We hope that we never need it, but sure as heck don't wanna be flying thru the air and spending that split second wishing that we had gotten better gear. I spend alot on gear. But, you can buy great gear used pretty cheap and often in great condition. Helmets should be bought new. Heck, if I even so much as drop a helmet on the concrete, I toss it and replace it. That may sound crazy to some, but read the crash rating guides and they paint a pretty clear picture. I have a pair of Sidi Vertabre Race Carbon boots in size 11 that are in great shape and I would sell em cheap, if anyone needs. You can go on many site's classifieds section and buy used gear cheap.
  7. That s what I like about the Bell Transitions shield. It just automatically changes degree of tint. Goes from clear to dark tint really fast and I can't imagine riding without it. I had heard that Shoie is coming out with their own photochramtic shield and I really recommend checking it out.
  8. I got a Bell RS1 Helmet last summer and really like it. When you look at the UK SHARP testing, all the Bell helmets rank very high across the board. Very comfortable and the internal lining is so smooth and comfy. I don't miss my Shoie 1200 at all. In fact, the RS1 got a higher crash test rating from Sharp than the 1200 did. I also got the Transitions shield, which automatically changes tint according to how bright the UV is. Works like the Transitions glasses. Let me tell you, when you get used to the transitions auto shield, to hell with everything else. Five Stars Cruizin rating on helmet and shield!
  9. Man, I just got these Sidi Canyon Goretex Boots And man, they are the best boots I have ever owned. Great for ADV and sporttouring, but unlike most riding boots, you can actually walk around in these and be comfortable. Pretty trick ratcheting strap to get em fit perfectly. And, they are extremely waterproof. I wore em in a downpour the other day and rode 130 miles and my feet were the only dry thing on me. Sizing I am a size 10 1/2 and the 11's fit me perfect. Five Stars Cruizin rating
  10. Depends on who you ask. Some people are surprised to be hit with wind when riding a motorcycle. Some people get a motorcycle to feel the wind. Some even remove the the screen on their bike. Buying and riding bikes was so much easier before the days of internet forums cause we didn't know what was wrong with our bikes, we just rode the piss outta them.
  11. I noticed that Magpie shared some great UK Ebay LED Driving lights that look awesome and easy to install. Here are the LED driving lights from USA Ebay Looks like these can be mounted on the front fender using existing bolt holes. Here is a link to Magpie's thread and pics! http://fj-09.org/post/5682/thread
  12. Went out on a chill ride on my FZ today with a buddy who left his R-6 at home and took his Victory. So, i got to actually see the scenery. Going up to Stanley, Idaho tomorrow and will bring my Sony cam. [attachment id=6" thumbnail="1]
  13. I've been on many forums, and left some due to selling the vehicle I was there to discuss, but I've never run across a situation where my old posts were deleted upon leaving. Is there a way for the administrators to not delete posts from a member that leaves? It seems to destroy the meaning of the post, especially if the person leaving was the OP. I'm just wondering if there is a setting that could be changed to leave posts intact. @memphomaniac Please, read my post that you actually just quoted. He deleted his account, and also went in and deleted all of his posts. We did not delete the posts or his account. I agree, it is strange and I haven't seen that happen before and unfortunately, I cannot get posts back once a user deletes them. Moral of the story is, when a moderator PM's you and asks you not to break a certain rule, don't fly off the handle and delete your account and all of your posts.
  14. Odd that when someone leaves the board that all their posts get deleted. Very strange indeed. GSORider had some good information on this board and it will be missed. He decided to leave us on his own accord and deleted his account on his way out the door. He did post some good info and hopefully more people will step up and post more good info.
  15. @cameron12x Can I post these pics on the front page? Awesome looking bike!!
  16. As a sales manager, I totally appreciate your line of thinking. But no way that Yamaha will go for that. And I'm worried about Yamaha shutting me down as it is. They have shut down other Bike forums before and I worry about them seeing FJ-09 in the domain name as it is. In fact, I have a couple of other back up domain names in case a ceast and desist letter comes my way. Thanks again for the suggestion Steve, I wish we could.
  17. HEY! Let me be clear, thought I was above. I DO NOT SCAN NOR DO I SELL OR SHARE SERVICE MANUALS! AS STATED ABOVE, there is a guy on ebay in the UK who does and he is working on getting a service manual and will be selling PDF's, like he does fr the FZ-07 and FZ-09. I never said that I will be selling this crap. Don't wanna get sued and thrown in jail.
  18. 1.It will not be a legal copy. 2.It will be for sale on EbayUK, the guy has FZ-07 and FZ-09 copies for sale now. 3.The FJ-09 forums do not condone, or suggest the use or sale of pirated copywrited materials and such materials will never be posted on this forum. But some might share some ebay links when they appear.
  19. If you guys just wait a month or so, there will be a PDF for like $10 available. A little birdie told me..
  20. Nice! Any chance you could do a couple write ups on that in the "How To" section? Great idea man!
