  1. Depends on who you ask. Some people are surprised to be hit with wind when riding a motorcycle. Some people get a motorcycle to feel the wind. Some even remove the the screen on their bike. Buying and riding bikes was so much easier before the days of internet forums cause we didn't know what was wrong with our bikes, we just rode the piss outta them.
  2. I noticed that Magpie shared some great UK Ebay LED Driving lights that look awesome and easy to install. Here are the LED driving lights from USA Ebay Looks like these can be mounted on the front fender using existing bolt holes. Here is a link to Magpie's thread and pics! http://fj-09.org/post/5682/thread
  3. Went out on a chill ride on my FZ today with a buddy who left his R-6 at home and took his Victory. So, i got to actually see the scenery. Going up to Stanley, Idaho tomorrow and will bring my Sony cam. [attachment id=6" thumbnail="1]
  4. I've been on many forums, and left some due to selling the vehicle I was there to discuss, but I've never run across a situation where my old posts were deleted upon leaving. Is there a way for the administrators to not delete posts from a member that leaves? It seems to destroy the meaning of the post, especially if the person leaving was the OP. I'm just wondering if there is a setting that could be changed to leave posts intact. @memphomaniac Please, read my post that you actually just quoted. He deleted his account, and also went in and deleted all of his posts. We did not delete the posts or his account. I agree, it is strange and I haven't seen that happen before and unfortunately, I cannot get posts back once a user deletes them. Moral of the story is, when a moderator PM's you and asks you not to break a certain rule, don't fly off the handle and delete your account and all of your posts.
  5. Odd that when someone leaves the board that all their posts get deleted. Very strange indeed. GSORider had some good information on this board and it will be missed. He decided to leave us on his own accord and deleted his account on his way out the door. He did post some good info and hopefully more people will step up and post more good info.
  6. @cameron12x Can I post these pics on the front page? Awesome looking bike!!
  7. As a sales manager, I totally appreciate your line of thinking. But no way that Yamaha will go for that. And I'm worried about Yamaha shutting me down as it is. They have shut down other Bike forums before and I worry about them seeing FJ-09 in the domain name as it is. In fact, I have a couple of other back up domain names in case a ceast and desist letter comes my way. Thanks again for the suggestion Steve, I wish we could.
  8. HEY! Let me be clear, thought I was above. I DO NOT SCAN NOR DO I SELL OR SHARE SERVICE MANUALS! AS STATED ABOVE, there is a guy on ebay in the UK who does and he is working on getting a service manual and will be selling PDF's, like he does fr the FZ-07 and FZ-09. I never said that I will be selling this crap. Don't wanna get sued and thrown in jail.
  9. 1.It will not be a legal copy. 2.It will be for sale on EbayUK, the guy has FZ-07 and FZ-09 copies for sale now. 3.The FJ-09 forums do not condone, or suggest the use or sale of pirated copywrited materials and such materials will never be posted on this forum. But some might share some ebay links when they appear.
  10. If you guys just wait a month or so, there will be a PDF for like $10 available. A little birdie told me..
  11. Nice! Any chance you could do a couple write ups on that in the "How To" section? Great idea man!
  12. Moving this thread because it is neither a tech tip or how to.
  13. How did those bags work out? Gonna be able to keep them out of the wheels at speed? I am a fan of softbags, Wolfman and Giant Loop. They tend not to break if you drop your bike.
  14. Those are the bags that I will be going with. I really like soft bags and they don't break when you low side or drop the bike. And the reflection is an awesome safety feature.
  15. I have done alot of business with Carl's Cycle in Boise. Good people but not so good service dept.
  16. thought that I would start a thread of interesting stuff popping up for the FJ-09 on Ebay and Amazon. Feel free to add on, but please keep it to Ebay or Amazon parts. In fact, please keep them in here to reduce clutter on the forums. Yamaha Genuine rear rack for 169.95 Carbon Fiber? Rear hugger mudguard for $92.50 FJ-09 Lowering Links for $84.00 Genuine Yamaha Tall Windshield for $184.95 FJ-09 Engine Protector Set for $317.99 In case you drop your bike or lowside.
  17. YAMAHA Part Number is 5GH-13440-50-00. This is the same oil filter as the FZ-07 and the FZ-09. Yamaha is doing us all a huge favor by keeping it simple! The following are also all compatible. And before anyone starts pointing out a favorite, remember that more important than brand of filter or oil is actual Frequency of oil and filter change. 18. Not entirely sure when I put words in your mouth, so don't get snarky with me. Seeming you have so many problems with this bike, I recommend finding another bike to meet your needs. Best of luck and farewell internet forums. People like you are the reason I never join them. I hate when people get pissy on my forums. Keep it up and your both outta here.
  19. I don't think that there would be an issues with installing braided brake lines. Should be a normal install, right?
  20. Let me know when u are in town, especially if you ride home!
