  1. Have had both First Gear Kilimanjaro & KLIM Latitude jacket & pants. I found both to be very good. However, I would go KLIM again despite the price....it is well worth it. Underneath in colder weather I use Warm & Safe full heated suit. My husband also has both KLIM Badass jacket & pants and again money well spent. Hope that helps.

  3. @krucymucy that is an awesome write up on the Tutoro inparticular the installation...well done and thank you!! Like your fabrication of the supporting brackets (very clever) as the additional swingarm mounting kit Tutoro have available does not suit the Tracer.....wish I was able to do that (fabricate). I installed my Tutoro in Jan 2018 with the dual head feeder which has since worn out. I found the adhesive used on the feelers disintegrates over times and ends up moving around and was damaged. Despite applying an alternative adhesive it didn't last terribly long and I have resorted to using the Single feed nozzle, which I have totally re-jigged the fitting using the canister fitting brackets attached using the inside swingarm plate bolt holes also. It is unfortunate that Tutoro do not provide the dual feeder as a replacement part (that I could find) and you require to purchase an entire kit again. I ran out of the Tutoro oil a while ago, although I must say it did last me until earlier this year (here in Australia it is warmer and hence the dial is almost turned off to get the correct flow rate). I am now using a Hypoid 80/90 (think the brand in Redline) and find it quite suitable (once I reset the flow rate). In winter I increase the flow rate slightly. Still have the Loobman head feeders which I might try and adapt like @2and3cylinders did in his thread. Happy riding everyone
  4. My 2015 MT09 Tracer " Dudley" ticked over 100,000 on Friday. 98,000 km I put on myself. Looking forward to the next 100,000
  5. Had my 2015 for 5 years now. We did a fork upgrade at about 5000km. Replaced the fork oil with 2.5w Motorex fork oil yesterday at 99,906km and must say it was pretty yuk and stank like sewerage. Rest of the 100,000km service done too including re-gassing the ZX6R rear shock and replaced and realigned the Tutora oiler. Ready for the a test run this afternoon and the next 100,000km's. I'm in Australia and this is the oil weight that was recommended by Pattonme. A bit late for the info but hope it helps.

    I've also heard good reports on the Plexus for your visor/screen. Am yet to get a can for myself but here is Australia it's around $35-$40.
  7. I replaced the Loobman with the Tuturo and in all honesty, the Tuturo is much better on the Tracer (2015). Just about out of the genuine oil but have suitable gear oil hypoid 80/90 in the garage ready to go.
  8. Did the 90,000 km (55,923 miles) service yesterday. Nothing unusual and the oil looked good for 10,000 kms. Topped up the Tuturo Oiler reservoir and adjusted the sprocket nozzles. The only thing is the clutch noise on idle (in neutral) when then clutch is out.....pull the clutch in and noise goes away. Searched through the wealth of knowledge on here and haven't found a solution or that things require replacing. In Australia, there was no recall on the clutch as opposed to a recall OS. Folk say, it's just how it is. My husband notices the noise more than I do (as you do get used to it), so we'll just be keeping an eye on the noise to ensure it's not getting worse. Just over 4 years of owning " this" bike and finally seriously thinking about retiring the Airhawk and spoiling myself with a custom seat from MJM in Goulburn NSW Australia. Could be my 2020 birthday present to myself.
  9. About a year ago I totally lost a nut & bolt out of one of my locks and was wondering why the lock was spinning. Turned the darn thing over and wholla....empty space and the whole lock fell off. Lucky we have an assortment of stainless tiny screws and lock nuts in the garage so was able to fix quickly and have now also locktite all the other bolts.

  12. The original locking mechanisms just don't hold very well anymore and I have been using a flat head screwdriver and a hammer to tap them tight for over a year now. Thanks @suncoaster for this handy tip and to @keithu for revisiting this topic. So today I took a trip to the local bicycle shop - 20 minutes round trip Drill 2x 4.8mm holes - 10 minutes Insert the skewer and tighten up - 2 minutes Job finished in 32 minutes including the travel time to get the part........not bad & I did it myself

  16. Scuberth helmet for me. Having a pin head "very small" I find it difficult to get a helmet that fits comfortably. I've had several shard helmets which I have been very happy with but the Scuberth is sensational. The only thing it is missing though is a pinlock, which I will ensure I get on the next one. They aren't cheep though so I have to wait until they come on special here is Australia.
  17. My goodness Wordy, you certainly have been busy with your new additions. You've had plenty of practice at some of these it note as you are moving the ideas from one bike to the next I gonna take a stab here and say Farkle #11 will be the seat....but I guess that is yet to be seen.

  19. Hi Everyone, I have to replace the brake fluid as part of the 80,000 km (~49,000 mile) service. My hubby has a Tenere and they can cycle the ABS pump (flush the old fluid from the ABS pump). Can this be done with the Tracer - 2015 model? Thanks in advance.
  20. Thanks for the info guys. Mine is also rattly and with 80,000 kms (49,709 miles), I thought there was something wrong. Seems it just a trait of the bike.
  21. http://www.loobman.co.uk/ I have had 3 Loobman oilers on various bikes and have come to appreciate the simplicity of them. The original squeeze bootle version was a bit of a PITA but still did a good job and the newer version with the plunger is built more stoutly/robust and works a charm. Not to mention the price is right. Kimmie, what kind of oil are you running through yours. I use 80-90 gear oil with great success. Cheers Hey Tinkerfreak, I'm using chainsaw oil at the moment cause that's what I have. IN the past I've used engine oil but it is a bit thin and you have to apply more and the fling off is extreme. Due to get some more oil soon, so I might try your 80-90 gear oil and see how I go. What's your fling of rate like??

  24. Not quite auto. I have to push the button on top of the oil reservior to feed the oil down to the feeder... but, yes same principle.
