  1. The FJ09 is the first bike I've owned that didn't have a fuel petcock. On all the others, I usually rode until I had to switch to reserve then stopped for gas. I would leave the petcock on reserve for a few miles after I filled up to keep pulling from the very bottom of the tank. This way you never get any build up of water. Of course, if you forget to switch back you'll have a different problem. On this bike, I just add some gas treatment every so often and let the alcohol in it mix with any water.
  2. I've also lowered my bike. The factory links measure 2.5 inches center to center.
  3. I recently encountered this issues also. Pulling the sensor out and wiping the face didn't help. Since it started when I got caught in a rainstorm, I thought some moisture may have gotten in connector. When I removed the tank and airbox to change the plugs and filter, I inspected the connector and it was clean and dry. I pulled the sensor again and used some #0000 steel wool on the face of it and polished up the contacts. Before putting the sensor back I sprayed it down with some WD-40 and wiped it thoroughly to make sure there wasn't any residue from the steel wool. Works good now.
  4. When I called my local dealer about the handlebar riser recall, they looked up my VIN and told me there were 3 recalls, the handlebar riser one, the cam chain tensioner one and the shifter shaft one. Yes, they called the cam chain tensioner issue a recall. I pointed out that I was out of warranty and they said it didn't matter. The paperwork they gave me when the work was done listed all 3 as recalls as well. I was surprised by the shifter shaft as I was told when I bought the bike that it had already been done.
  5. Thanks. I figured I'd need an inch/pound wrench on them.
  6. Nope, I'm referring to the 15 bolts that attach the oil strainer cover (or oil pan) to the bottom of the engine.
  7. Does anyone know the torque spec for the oil strainer cover?
