  1. It's more of a suggestion. Kinda like your mother saying "Be a good boy" Or maybe plausible deniability. The corporation saying "See! Right here we told them it was dangerous." I have been in triple digits with side cases a small pelican box on the luggage rack and a 30lb dry bag on the passenger seat. It was fine.
  2. I'm 6' 1" also. Long legs 34" inseam and a short torso. It does work pretty well. While I don't spend a lot of time on the Interstates. I like riding smaller secondary roads. The ErMax has been my go to for years.
  3. "Been missing the planted, solid feel of my 2010 VFR1200F since I sold it ib 2018" Not trying to be a d**k. But. Why? I have 2010 Honda Vfr1200f. A very cool and rare bike here in the states. People are always asking about it. Very fast, loads of torque, just a blast to ride. On to the question. Maybe a Kawasaki Versys 1,000..... 118hp isn't replacing the 170-ish the VFR made. Still in Kawasaki mode. H2/SX? They do have side cases for it. And it has the HP#'s
  4. A bump for a great deal. I have a 2015. Just the cases were $1,000
  5. THIS 👆 At 68,000+ miles I have NEVER had to add a drop of oil between services. While I don't do track days at all, or wheelies much any longer. I'm still fairly quick and don't mind riding fast. If you're adding oil, something is up.. Just my $.02. YMMV
  6. Been running one with a small wing off and on for years. Sometimes if I'm going on a long trip I'll throw a taller ErMax on if I feel I will need more protection.
  7. It's my understanding that Akra's don't need it. I could be wrong though
  8. It's South Florida. Which basically means "who knows why" 😃🤷‍♀️
  9. I started on the street in 1974. I don't recall ever having a bike that didn't bang into 1st. Some were a bit louder than others. But still.
  10. But they last nearly forever. I have a SwMotech tank bag that I've had forever and I bought it used here. If you buy quality stuff you generally don't have to replace as often. YMMV. Good luck and post pictures of your decision. 👍
  11. First gen 2015. LED's are fine. Make sure they are aimed correctly.

  13. Make sure you stop and get a picture of Big Betsy, Giant Lobster86700 Overseas Hwy, Islamorada, FL 33036https://g.co/kgs/68Atda
  14. I live in Ft. Lauderdale. Florida City to Key West is at least 3 hours maybe 4. (Traffic) Depending on traffic and time of day. A couple suggestions. For your route down in my area. Cafe 27. (4690 US Hwy 27, Southwest Ranches, FL 33332) A truck stop/biker bar with solid food choices. Leaning towards Cuban cuisine. It's a good choice for a pit stop before heading south. From there run Chrome Ave to Florida City. It is slower than the Fla. Turnpike by about 30 mins. But. It takes you through farmland and not the bat-shit crazy Miami traffic. Once in Florida City. Run down Card Sound Road. Take the left at the "Last Chance Saloon." You will be riding through mangrove swamp and the cooling area for Turkey Point Nuclear plant. ~13 miles in, just before the bridge you will see Alabama Jack's on your right. Stop in. It's a dive bar and a Florida Icon. Been there since the 40's. Owned by the same family for 3 generations IIRC. Card Sound road will drop you back on US1. You are now trapped. US1 is the only way to Key West. There are places to stop on the way down. This is the keys. Funky stops are everywhere. The Giant Florida Lobster. The Lorelei, The No Name pub and others. My Advice would be to spend the day going to Key West. Key West is a very different place, have dinner, spend the night then head back. On your way back North. Tamiami Trail. J. Not at dusk/night. There is a lot of wildlife moving around out there. Joanie's Blue Crab Cafe Is a on point place After that. You're on your own. Ceder Key is worth a stop. PM if you want. Jeff On Edit. If you need anything.
  15. Seen at Café 27. South Florida
  16. @2and3cylinders I like the original Engage so much that I bought one to have as a backup when the zippers that have been repaired several times finally fail.
  17. You're fine. My 1st gen FJ-09 in scalding hot and humid SOFLA runs ~165* F (74*C) while underway, and has for 65,000 miles. Zero issues.
  18. Now they're antique and collectable? 🤷‍♂️
