  1. I like it, but don't see paying $200 for a piece of plastic. Now if it was carbon fiber, that would be a different story!!
  2. I'm sorry to hear that you aren't happy with your V-Stream Sport/Tour model of screen, especially after you seemed excited to get yours after my review. You said that if you ducked your head an inch or two, the buffeting went away. So I am wondering if you had it set in the highest position, if that would have made a big difference? Or maybe the Touring screen is just the one that you need. Anyway, sorry for the disappointment!! I still love mine, and it works perfectly for me. Good luck!!
  3. The flare on the V-Stream does indeed help with the wind buffeting greatly. Plus with the bracket that you install, it extends the screen out about an inch from the OEM screen placement to let wind under it, so that helps a lot too, kind of like the hole does in the CalSci screen.
  4. I had the CalSci screen for over six months. Although I was happy with it as far as wind blocking and buffeting, I didn't really like it's looks. I recently bought two new screens from National Cycle called the V-Stream. I had previous experience with them when I had my FJR-1300, and loved the V-Stream screen I had on it. So I was really glad when they made new ones for the FJ-09. They have three sizes, the "sport' which is H-12" (30.5cm) by W-12.75" (32.4cm) dark tint, the "sport/tour" which is H-15.75" (40cm) by W-16" (40.6cm) light gray tint, and the "touring" which is H-17.25" (43.8cm) by W-17.5" (44.4cm) clear. I bought the sport and the sport/tour versions and tested them out this past week, since Northern California has been having perfect riding temperatures the last couple of weeks. I loved the looks of the sport version with it's dark tint, but there was some wind buffeting when riding at freeway speeds. It still works better than the stock screen though by far. I might use it in the summer when temps in the valley are high, and the wind will feel better to cool me down, since I always ride in full gear. But I absolutely love the sport/tour version!! It looks fantastic, and has virtually no buffeting. I am 6'0" and have it set in the low position, and it works perfectly. I have no report for the touring version, but I'm sure that it is even better if using it for long trips, or extensive freeway riding. They have their own bracket to mount to the OEM frame, but it is easy, and anybody can do it in minutes. The prices are okay on the National Cycle website, but I found them on eBay for a lot less.Anyway, I just wanted to put my two-cents in on some great screens!!
  5. Just call them. They'll ship USPS for about $7.Ok, I will. Thanks!!
  6. I wanted to order these and I wanted the black ones to match my bike, which cost $30. When I went to pay, I noticed that they charge $16 just for shipping!! That is ridiculous, just for two light weight aluminum 2" extenders!! Guess I won't be buying them from this company!!
  7. Just got mine in the mail today. Ordered May 14th, shipped (from South Korea) the 16th, and received today the 18th. Not bad for being so far away and listing the delivery dates as June 2nd to July 1st!! Now to install them.....
  8. I was glad to see these back on eBay. Love the look of them. I'm not too thrilled about drilling holes in the hand guards though, and the delivery date window of June 2 to July 1 is a long time to wait. Hopefully it is closer to June 2nd than July. Nevertheless, I still couldn't pass them up again, so I took the plunge.
  9. Yes, me too !! I just ordered the tall screen and the short one. They are a lot cheaper than the CalSci ones too. I got two for the price of one of theirs. Thanks!!!
  10. I went to California Scientific yesterday as I live right down the road from them. They were out of the clear taller screens because everybody on here is buying them up, haha!! He told me to come back in the afternoon, and he should have some more. Well, when I called to make sure he had one for me, he said he made five that day, and they were already taken. Guess I should have had him set one aside for me. But on another note, the short tinted screen has been changed slightly from the pictures on their website. He told me that when they did further testing on it, the wind was hitting them right in the face, so they made it slightly smaller so that it would hit you in the upper chest/below the helmet area. So if you are thinking of buying the short tinted one, check with them first to make sure it is what you want. These screens seem like good quality stuff though, so I will be picking up either the taller one, or both. Not too sure about the short one, since I do a lot of freeway riding. We will see...
