What did you do to your FJ-tracer-gt today?

1pm for mine today. Also marked up the risers to make sure they replace them, as well as putting marks on the handle bars to make sure they put them back to the correct angle. Why are you getting the risers replaced? -
How's the wind noise? Any whistling at speed?

You all need to stop getting the recall work done. My part has been on order for about 3 weeks, still waiting! -
You are missing my point. ABS makes practicing hard braking, right up to the point of locking up the brakes, much easier and safer. I used ABS to improve my braking skills, if you don't practice at finding the limit, you cannot improve your braking skills. Locking up rear ABS is easy, NOT locking it up takes a lot more practice. I consider use of rear brake vital to maximize control and minimizing braking distance. I guess I worded my last statement incorrectly. I'm surprised people use the rear brake at all. I haven't used mine on any of the bikes I've owned.

I'm just shocked that so many people use the rear brake to the point where ABS kicks in.

The handlebars are tilted to the left (the right side being farther from the tank than the right) while the bike is tracking straight. -

Have you dropped the bike, or could your bars be bent from something else? Also, are your risers straight? If they aren't, your bars won't be aligned with the forks. I was shocked when I replaced my bars to find that my right riser was so loose that I could turn it by hand. Haven't dropped it. They've been slightly crooked since I brought it home from the dealer with .3 miles on it. Not sure about the risers as I haven't messed with them. I did follow some steps that were given to try to straighten them out which involved loosening the lower axle pinch bolt and the upper fork clamps followed by a couple of bounces. Still crooked. -

But... (and it's a big but) loosening the axle, pinch bolt, etc has NO effect on fork alignment on a fork of this design. There, I said it. This whole 'bouncing thing' is from the days of 'conventional' forks with twin pinch bolts on each fork bottom, (such as an FJR or Honda ST1300) not upside-down forks with the type of axle that the FJ has. Look at the axle closely; it's a shouldered bolt with an integral nut that has no option of position -it's either tight or it's not. It's so idiot proof, even I can do it. You can leave it loose, bounce the front end, but as soon as you tighten the axle, the fork tubes are going to move (or not) to their 'installed' position -there's nothing you can do to change that. The single pinch bolt on the right leg is merely a safety-pin to keep the axle from turning out "just in case". If it makes you feel better to bounce the front end with all the bolts and the axle loose, by all means, enjoy. But your efforts will be for naught as soon as you tighten the axle. So then how do we align the forks/bars? Mine are still a bit off despite my efforts to align them. -

Well after an almost 800 mile ride this past weekend, I changed the oil at 1000 miles. Also found out that I need to angle my DIY windscreen back a bit as the air is hitting just under my helmet and causing noise. Should be an easy fix. -

Those look very nice, but really short - how many fingers can you get on the brake lever?Cheers You really only need one for normal stops, 2 for panic stops. ?? -

I was thinking about that as a project that would be too big to undertake any time soon. Now you may have cost me lot of hours and cash, since this seems just right and very much possible... So... Thanks, I guess? Haha it also comes with a ram style ball mount so all you'd have to supply is the actual u-bolt that goes around your handle bars. It works really well. Just put one in my truck to activate LED pod lights. Super easy to install. If I had more lights on my bike or atv I would not hesitate to use this item for those as well. -

What is the colour of your FJ-09?

I think those are only available overseas? Mine has gold forks. -
McAllen/Rio Grande City, TX As about as far south as you can get!

Made my own. Had it up to 80 mph with no complaints. No strong pressure that causes fatigue. I'm coming off of a Harley sportster that didn't have one. I had to literally hold on to the bars to keep the wind from pushing me off.
