  1. You can get OEM fog lights, but the lights themselves are $500 CAD plus you need to add huge mounts (which double as engine guards I think) as well for another $200 CAD. I wonder is there are any other options from the perspective of installing brighter LEDs in the existing light fixtures. I'm sorry - but it's 2021 - come on Yamaha seriously? Being seen should be a massive (if not number one) priority when it comes to motorcycle safety.
  2. Wiring installation instructions here: https://d1l4i7f87txqmq.cloudfront.net/denali2/pdfs/VWG_Daytime Running Lights_rev00.pdf
  3. Would these work on the 2021 GT? Does the bike have a CAN bus? I like the less obvious look of them. https://denalielectronics.com/products/dnl-drl-10000-w I also received feedback from a riding buddy that he had a hard time seeing me while out yesterday. Great.
  4. It mounts the same as the previous GT models. I have my MRA Sport from my 2019 GT on the new bike and it fits and works fine - except that when the handle bars are at full turn, the new hand guards will hit the screen if it's in the top most position. I have sent this info and pictures to MRA in Germany and they are working on a new version. Rob
  5. You'd probably lose the centre stand with that one...
  6. That's correct - except in this picture, the light on the left that is illuminated is the low beam. High beam is the right side. Here's picture of mine without the engine running - so you can see both sets of DRLs minus the headlight. Rob
  7. Yeah, sorry - bad description. There are LEDs lights within the main running lights that act as cornering lights and come on when the bike is turned or leaned over a certain degree. Rob
  8. Hopefully they're visible - at least when they are flashing!
  9. I had a 2019 GT and now the 2021 GT and unless you have a miniscule butt, there is very limited room to move back at all on the new seat compared to the previous model. It's not uncomfortable per se - but it did take a bit to get used to.
  10. Good feedback @Jayzonk a) It wasn't me - although I'm not too far from you 🙂 b) While more is often better when it comes to lighting/visibility on a bike - I wondered if the single headlight (low beam) plus the LED DRL plus turning lights plus the LED turn signals which also function as DRL would appear quite visible to oncoming or vehicles waiting to turn in front. Hmm...
  11. Akrapovič Akra has released their exhaust for the new T9.
  12. There is a guy on the T9 FB group in Colorado that has one.
  13. Could it be that to make them really comfortable, the seats wouldn't look as sleek and "sexy"? Eg. more padding etc. (keep it clean boys & girls!) . Some of the really top end custom seats which I'm sure are super comfy tend to look bloated etc. Just ruminating out loud. Rob
  14. My dealer went through everything with me at pickup - even though coming from a 2019 GT and having been reading and researching the new Tracer 9 for months I knew most of what he showed me - the new seat "spacer" thing would have fooled me. I too find the seat on the T9 to be meh. I had no issues with the stock seat on my 2019 - but this one isn't great. The covering material doesn't allow you to move around as easily (which I'm sure some people like) and it definitely sits you more forward. I didn't feel the need for tank grips on my 2019, but will likely get them for this bike. I ordered the comfort/touring seats for my bike - which I thought were very reasonably priced. The rear is available but the rider/front is backordered until end of June - same as the side cases so hopefully I can get them at the same time. Rob
  15. I can attest that the new bike feels taller than my 2019. It's likely the wider seat as previously mentioned. Rob
  16. Yamaha released a 2018 Tracer 900 prior to the 2019 and 2019 GT models. I actually bought my 2019 GT in August 2018. So the 2018 Tracer was available for a fairly short period of time but they did exist - I sat on one at the Toronto bike show that year and asked the sales person when the GT was coming out. 😊 Rob
  17. They look great. The data is crammed in there though. I want to play around with the screen brightness. It adds character to the bike, imho.
  18. Exactly - smoother power delivery.
  19. I rode home in engine mode "2" which is akin to the old "Standard" mode on my 2019 GT. I'd say it's smoother than the previous model - not snatchy - just need to make sure you give it enough throttle. Once moving, the response is immediate and very linear/smooth. I didn't switch it to mode "1" as I didn't want to fuss with it while riding - the dash contains a lot of info - need to get used to where everything is located still. Rob
  20. Nah - there's enough dime store vloggers out there without me adding to the pile. 😆
  21. It's here! I've only ridden it home for the dealership (~30km) but so far all I can say is WOW! Some really quick observations - (will elaborate more later after a bit more saddle time): Smooth and refined power delivery and transmission Exhaust sounds "throatier" - not necessarily louder - but has more "substance" to it New windshield, while better than the one on my 2019, still produces buffeting. At first glance, it looks like my MRA Sport screen will fit - so that will be confirmed shortly. The rider seat feels shorter - eg. you are right up and in the cockpit and with less room to slide back. I think this is good, but will need more riding time to determine. Semi-active suspension in tour mode is very nice - soaks up a lot of bumps! The bike looks WAY better in person - when I saw it for the first time yesterday I was so excited. It looks really, really sharp. More to come...
  22. Heard from my dealer on Friday. He expects the bike to be delivered next week. Side cases are on backorder until the end of June. Gives me time to break it in. Getting pumped!
  23. I also saw on FB that someone in the same province as I am located (only about 4.5 hours away) was told his bike had arrived. So hopefully I will be hearing about mine soon!
  24. @Dpl900 - is this your local dealer? 😃
  25. Interesting - his comments about the throttle response - sounds familiar. Looks like ECU re-mapping may be a thing for the new bikes too. Not really a surprise though. I do wonder about the cornering lights. It doesn't seem to take much of a lean to make them come on - so lets' hope that isn't confusing to oncoming vehicles who think you are either flashing your headlights or such to them. Thanks for posting - that triple sounds awesome!
