  1. I'm paying around $650, living in a big city in California, for non-full coverage (was quoted $1k-1.5k for full coverage). The Canadian insurance prices aren't too far off from what we're paying out here in Cali.
  2. @wordsmith, thanks for the in depth review and great pics. I'm confused about which product you ended up with. It looks like this seat - the Sport-Tour version specific to the FJ-09. You mentioned that the seat you have is the FJR touring version - is it specified as such on the Seat Concepts site or the AdventureMoto distributor site? This is the best I can find for FJR tour version. ...Which may or may not fit on the FJ. Can you confirm which product you ordered? I too have nearly pulled the trigger on this add-on. At just $175 USD it's about half the cost of any other aftermarket seat option. Some seem like to like it, others not so much.
  3. I do this all the time too, and am surprised more people don't do this. Is it not secure enough for your tastes? To me, locking the helmet prevents casual theft. If someone really wants your helmet, they're going to take it. Hell, just cut it off at the D-ring and all these expensive locks are rendered useless. The helmet is useless too, but someone who's going to steal a helmet in the first place might not be a logical enough individual to put two and two together.
  4. Hey @gilfairfax, did you ever figure out why your bike only takes 4.2 gallons? I seem to have the same issue. Fuel indicator flashes at ~140 miles, I average an indicated 40-43 mpg city/hwy commuting, and haven't gotten more than 4.2 gallons (that's US California type gallons) in even after driving about 30 miles on reserve. For people who say the difference is sidestand vs centered up, I do fill up on the sidestand. Centering the bike after filling up reveals that the fuel level still reaches the tank fill insert thingie.... It certainly doesnt't seem like there's room for another half gallon. I'll try the center stand next time I fill up and report back. Very frustrating. Having a limited range on longer trips is awful. If anyone is curious I do have 2wheeldyno reflash; no noticeable change to gas mileage.
