  1. I'm going to try and sell my 2015 Red FJ-09 since my girlfriend of 4 yrs and I only ride our BMW K1600GT all the time. The BMW is simply a better two up option.

But...here it goes. An incredible list of features and options. I will not sell anything separate.

Located near Charlotte, NC. $7500 - 34,000 miles

Electronic Cruise Control, 2 Wheel Dynoworks ECU reflash (standard), Heated Grips, Sargent Seat, Givi Windscreen, Motodynamics Sequencing Brakelight, LED Sequencing Turn Signals, LED Handguard Lights,  Mirror Extenders, Slipper Clutch Kit installed, Cogent Dynamics Rear Shock, FJR1300 Hard Luggage, Yamaha 39L Top Case, SW Motech Skidplate, Tenere front pegs, TPMS System, Wireless Charging phone holder, (2) 12VDC Outlets, Sparkbright Voltage Monitor,

Are you talking about that 4k-ish rpm whistle the bike makes? If so I thought that was the engine.

I just replaced my sprockets/chain too. No dampner Superlite sprockets (17/43) and DID 525vx. I noticed no difference in sound but it's way smoother maybe just because my last chain was shot and had many kinks.

No, that "whistle" seems to be a characteristic of 3 cylinder platforms. Love it! Remember the K75 "Whistling Brick"? I can get the bike up to speed, pull in the clutch (engine at idle) and hear a distinct "whirl" sound with a frequency that matches the speed of the bike. It's not tire noise, but absolutely attributed to the new front sprocket. It's gotten less pronounced after almost 1K miles, but it's still there. Honestly, I love the smoothness of this setup and with the sound diminishing over time, I might just leave it as is, even with a damped sprocket in the mail tomorrow. You can hear it during the last 8 seconds of the video, when I pull in the clutch. I'm only going about 20MPH, so it's not very loud.

    Folks,

I have a line on a set of used FJR bags.

The lids are in good shape, but the one latching mechanism (plastic tab that slides out into the mount on the bike) is broken. My Yamaha dealer spoke to Yamaha Canada and you cannot buy this part separately from them. You need to buy the whole "inner" bag. Read: $$

So, I have the paint-matched City bags on my GT, for which I understand the inner bag has the exact same footprint as the FJR bags - although apparently Yamaha Canada won't confirm 😕

My question is, has anyone actually swapped out the "lids" or outer bag (the painted part) from an FJR bag onto a Tracer GT/FJ-09 inner bag?

If so, what is required to do so? It appears that the hinges on the Tracer bags are attached with rivets from the bottom. Do these need to be cut and replaced?

For what it's worth, I have searched the forum and have read through all the FJR bag posts that I could find and while there are some references to this mod, @clintthere is nothing that talks about specifically doing it or what is required. Plus a lot of pictures and even some of the members in those threads are no longer on the site.

    Thanks in advance,

    Rob

  4. Here's what I did, bought these:

    and this:

Then used the combination of the two to make a nice set of custom molded earbuds that work perfectly with my bluetooth communicators. Effective, comfortable noise attenuation that stays in the ear and allows you listen clearly to the music or communications at a lower volume.
