  1. The beauty of using the external sensors internally with the Doran valve stems, is that you don't have to worry about them leaking air. You can also add air like normal. Also, most internal sensors don't have replaceable batteries. With these you can simply replace the battery with every tire change if needed. The monitor tells you if either of the batteries are getting low. The Tiregard can be had for <$100 and it performs flawlessly with the monitor mounted between the bars.
  2. New tires! Roadsmart 3s as the Road 5s were a miserable experience with cupping and ramping after 2,000 miles. Oh well, I've got a tire machine, so "Quit your bitchin!". I truly view tires as consumables and don't think badly of Michelin. I think I'll try more rebound, yet I didn't have this problem with Roadtec 01, T30 Evos or RS2 that were previously fitted. I was running 36F/42R as my girlfriend is usually rides pillion. The Tiregard TPMS is a good system. I've mounted the sensors inside the tire rim using Doran Manufacturing valve stems with the lock ring.
  3. First valve adjustment this past week! Not too bad as it's very well documented on the interwebs. 😉 The usual findings. Exhaust valves were tight, while intakes were within spec. I replaced all 6 exhaust shims and 3 of the intakes to get them closer to midrange. Finished up with a throttle body sync and good to go!
  4. No, you got it right. Mine is identical. Set - sets cruise speed and accel. Res - Resumes and decels. That's just the way the Brandon CC works anyway. Same controller, I understand, as the McCruise.
  5. Aerostich Darien Jacket and Pants. Goretex gloves and boots! I'd rather ride in beautiful weather of course, but if it rains, I enjoy it! Not need to stop, just keep on going. I absolutely love riding in a downpour, totally dry and protected. My own little cocoon.
  6. I've had the Slime brand unit for a couple of years now. Works great! $27.00 Amazon Slime Mini-Compressor
  7. Love my CD shock! Be prepared to spent 30 min with them on the phone if you're ready to order. They want a lot of detail regarding your weight, bags, riding style, etc. These guys get it right and stand by their products. Been around for years in the mountains of NC.
  8. I accidentally mounted one backwards on my hat while walking home one day.
  9. Yes, it works. I've got a plug-in on my Chrome browser, Honey, that finds them for me.
  10. I had my eye on that set of LED flashers for some time, but the reported failure rate scared me off. The video link above is for a Yamaha comfort seat, not the LED flasher install.
  11. I bought these to add a couple of inches legroom for my partner. Very happy with them! Got mine in black. 12. So, is the red dial at the top for rebound adjustment? If so, how is it accessed when the shock is mounted? The rebound is easy to reach with your left hand.
  13. Good judgement comes from observing OTHER'S bad judgements. Much more preferable and less painful.
  14. Yamaha 39L with a lock that matches your ignition.
  15. Nick, I'd have to check the garage, but I believe I've got both the front and back covers. You're welcome to them.
  16. Looks good... though that set screw is kinda looking exposed. Point taken. It sat lower and is barely visible once I installed it permanently with thread lock.
  17. Added some bling to the forks. Preload adjusters! Gold Preload Adjusters
  18. I too have had them for a couple years. I think they are less visible at night with your brights on than in the day. I can understand the everlasting concern of visibility, but to be honest, I can't think of a situation where someone facing me really needs to know if my indicator is on or of a situation where this would be a safety concern.Well they are also running lights. A nice pair of prominent LEDs increase your conspicuity.
  19. It seems that oncoming traffic will have no idea of your intention to turn now.
  20. Which model year FJR1300 would work @clint ? Mine was a 2016, but I believe a 2013 and newer would work.
  21. Thanks! Yes, simply transferring the individual switches was easier than replacing the whole assembly and wiring loom. Plus, I had to drill the switch housing for the LED install.
