Yup that's all I did. Nels at 2wdw seemed pretty confident that's all that was needed and it would be fine and he was right. I figured if nothing else that was the best place to start in any case.

Well I put the bike through it's paces today and everything is fine, bike is running fantastic. Went through at least a few more ride cycles and no CEL so I'm guessing everything is good to go. Silver lining is now I have a scanner for the next time a code pops up. FWIW I bought this scanner and this adapter and it works beautifully for all of $30, probably just a good thing to have on hand.

Got the scanner and hooked it up. There were so many codes I didn't even write them all down. Intake barometric pressure fault, engine coolant fault, something about foot pedal position? Idk kinda crazy. Cleared them all we'll see what happens. Btw it costed me all of $30 for the cheapest scan tool on amazon and a knock off adapter and it works great.

Well I've done quite a few ride cycles and still have the CEL. Motor still feels like it's in some sort of pseudo limp mode hoping that is still directly related to the CEL and whatever I might have possibly screwed up. I ordered a scan tool and the 4 pin adapter hopefully they work and I can scan and clear the CEL.

@texscottydI didn't realize you just need an adapter. I did get an email back from 2wdw they say that you will always get a CEL after a flash that will clear itself after a few ride cycles. I had no idea about that so I guess I will ride it a little more tomorrow and see what happens. Still quite curious why it feels so sluggish. Will keep you all posted.

@texscottydYes I am hoping it is just something simple. I was very careful with the tank when moving it around but it is definitely possible something might have happened there. The airbox I just took the lid off and swapped the filters and put the lid back on. I've had the exhaust system on for about 4 years so no issue there. Is there a decent cheap scan tool for this bike? Probably would be quite helpful in this situation.

Hey all been a really long time since I posted. Finally decided to try out a tune for my 17 and it is not going well. I have a full yoshi system and nothing else done to the bike mechanically currently around 6500 miles. I also did replace the air filter with an OEM one while I had the bike apart to get at the ecu. I let the bike idle and warm up for a few minutes and everything seemed ok. As soon as I started down my block the bike just felt sluggish. Get out to the main road and give a little more juice obviously nothing crazy cause it's still cold but it just felt bad, look down and sure enough there's the CEL. Only rode it a few more minutes or so afterwards but it just did not feel good. I am pretty bummed out and just wanted to see if anyone else has had a similair issue or maybe there's something I did wrong. I don't have an easy way to scan the bike there are no shops or dealerships around me.

Front fender extender? You have piqued my curiosity. I tried cutting my stock screen down and it was ok but the mra touring screen I'm running now is much better. I believe other people have had success with cutting down their screens. Since you're on a 2015 an ecu flash is a must, and like mentioned fix your oil plug as well. Other than that get your suspension dialed in, one of the few glaring shortcomings on this bike.

On the subject of ethanol I myself have recently found a station about 35 minutes away that has 0% 91 octane. Not only that but it's over the hill in Nevada where gas is cheaper so I actually save about a dollar a gallon over my local station. I will be running only this gas in both of my bikes and my sled from now on. No you will not feel any "power" change with ethanol free gas. The main advantage of corn free gas is that it does not have the awful property that ethanol does of attracting moisture and causing corrosion. It is much much better to have 0% corn gas in your bike while it sits over the winter, also you do not need fuel stabilizer because that stuff is mainly used because of the ethanol. Just remember folks the only reason we put this crap in our fuel in the first place is because of government subsidies! It has zero benefit, corn free for life.

No knock sensors. The reason 91 octane is recommended is due to the high compression ratio. -Skip Yup high compression, which is why it boggles my mind you cats insist on trying to save a buck a fill up...

+1 for the OEM kit. Wish I knew this sooner but you can also adjust what level between 1-10 you want your 3 notches to be. I think I have mine set at 2,3,4

I am also running a full shorty set and at first I figured I'd use 2 fingers on both but quickly found myself with 3 on the clutch and it feels perfect.

Took my new nelson riggs sport tail pack I picked up on the revzilla sale out for a spin. Exactly what I was looking for, perfect size to stash some stuff for an afternoon ride. Fit nicely just wrapping the straps under the corbin I'm sure it would work with any seat.

So @texscottyd what's the next challenge?

I'm a nerd when it comes to lectrical stuff, but found the D-Zell LEDS an easy task, and the installation instructions, including templates for the fastenings, made it a breeze. But we are all different. I highly recommend them... Should have said for those of us not electrically inclined... (rofl) Mine might be up for sale shortly depending on how much I dig this new look.

That does look great. Dam I really do wanna try that was cruising around without the windshield some more today and it feels soooo good. Feeling some serious sunk cost fallacy with the dzell lights... don't get me wrong they are awesome they were just a royal PITA to install and wouldn't really be plug and play to remove and reattach. A few hours later... Can't wait to try it out tomorrow, an added bonus is the bar end weights I just picked up from highplainsrider look awesome. I'm even thinking that they should work even better now that they are actually right on the bar instead of a few inches away.

Got them installed today, shipping was right around 2 weeks which is not too shabby. Huge upgrade over the stock pegs and worth the cost IMO.

Got my MT-09 adventure pegs fresh from across the pond. IMO after riding a few miles with them they were worth every penny, vibes through pegs dropped dramatically and they just feel all around so much more solid and grippier. This is definitely a great OEM+ upgrade.
