I have a stock 2017 Fj09. My battery slowly died out over a few days. It cranked less and less each day/didn't sound right but started the motorcycle until it didn't one morning. I charged it to get to work but had to jump start it to get home. I bought a new battery and the bike starts but when I turn on the ignition it doesn't make any electrical noise like the ignition is on like before. The cluster comes on like normal and the bike starts but I think something is wrong because there is no sound from the ignition. I am afraid this new battery will drain out too. I am looking for any sugestions of what I should be checking. Fuses for the ignition or battery? I don't know becuse it still starts after a few days but something is wrong.

Thank you everyone for the help. I bought a charger and charged it overnight. It took a full charge and seems to be fine after almost a week of riding. I just need to get rid of the permanent check engine light now.

Thanks tktplz. Yes I read your dilemma on here. I am charging by battery now. If it doesn't take a charge I will get a new one tomorrow; because I need to be able to get to work without hassles on sunday. Thanks again for your help lance

Thank you for the help. I will try to charge it overnight with a motorcycle charger. Unfortunately I did jump it from a runnung vehicle; hope I didn't create mote problems than a dead battery. thanks again for the advice lance

I left my ignition on for a day and a half. I jump started it once and rode for 10 minutes but it wouldn't start the next morning. So I jump started it again and rode for two hours but still the next morning it would not even crank the starter. Thye check engine light is on so maybe I burnt a fuse jumping it. I read that you can't you can't recharge you battery by driving it because there is no altenator. So should I buy a charger to re charge it or just get a new battery. It is a 2017 with 8500 miles I ride it every day. I can't believe I left the key in it and on at that. Must be getting old.

hello Moses, There is a lot of good info on this forum. do you want a shorty smoke screen or a larger touring windshield. for the short screens Calsci , MRA and the shorty Ermax seem popular also some go with the cheap double bubble screens off ebay, The seemingly popular large screens are Givi, Puig, Madstad and National cycles V stream. I like the look of the v stream for touring.Will see how it goes when it arrives. Of course there are many others Parabellum , Falco etc... I wrote to you over on jrubicons Norcal thread to see if you guys wanted to ride sometime here locally. I live in Fremont. I have the same year and color bike as you . I go out to old mines road occasionally with my sister who rides and sometimes with my wife on the back. It is a popular motorcycle route in the East bay that is about an hour and a half ride from Pleasanton to San jose up over Mount Hamilton with a good halfway stop at the junction bar. We should all get together and ride old mines road through livermore up Mt Hamilton to 680 and back to Milpitas / Fremont. It is about an hour and a half round Trip. It is a good moto route with a stop half way at the junction bar. Watchya guys think? Lance

The roads over by Alices' Are very good and scenic. I have the same bike with the galaxy blue paint. I just put new Michelin Road 5's on. I can't wait to test them when it stops raining.

Hello, I have made a few long distance rides. I took my wife up to fort Bragg, we went through the avenue of the giants up in Humbolt national forest. That is an awesome ride. We are going to Yosemite as soon as they open up tiago pass road. Hello jrubicon, I am also in Fremont and I also have the same bike . A blue 2017 fj09. I usually ride old mines road on the weekends with my sister especially now the weather is nice. Maybe we can hook up for a ride since we are close here in Fremont. Ride safe and take care. Lance
