Hello, I have a new OE Yamaha Slipper Clutch Kit that I bought for my FJ09 and intented to install in summer but I sold my FJ09 as I intend to buy the GT model. Whoever is interested in the Slipper Clutch kit please pm me.

Hello Betony, I've looked everywhere in this forum and in other forums too (other fz09 forums) and some people have used the kit from partshark and some say they used the kit from the XSR service manual ( that uses different friction plates ), that's why I m confused !!! The partshark list uses the Friction Plate 2 (part no:B90-16331-00-00 ) whilst according to the XSR service manual the XSR uses 6 x (5TA-16321-00-00 ) which are totally different friction plates , one has thick tabs and the other narrow tabs !!!

I ordered the parts needed for the slipper clutch conversion according to the list from partshark( https://www.partshark.com/product/53311/xsr900-slipper-clutch-for-fz-09 ) , these are the parts I ordered: 3 x 1TD-16178-00-00 Absorber 1 x 1TD-16324-00-00 Clutch Plate 1 x 1TD-16383-00-00 Cushion Spring 1 x 1TD-16384-00-00 Seat Plate 3 x 2CR-16337-00-00 Spring Screw 3 x B90-16173-00-00 Compression Spring 3 x B90-16331-00-00 Friction Plate 1 x B90-16350-00-00 Pressure Plate Assembly 1 x B90-16352-00-00 Pressure Plate 2 1 x B90-16371-00-00 Clutch Boss 1 x 90179-20010-00 Boss Nut 1 x 1RC-15461-00-00 Crankcase Cover Gasket According the the yamaha xsr 900 service manual I need 6 Friction Plate 2 ( inner diameter 119mm) and in the stock clutch there are only 2 of these. Thus I need to order 4 Friction Plates Part No: 5TA-16321-00-00 and not 3 x B90-16331-00-00 Friction Plate as specified in the partshark slipper clutch list. Can somebody please clear this out for me as I am really confused about which friction plates to order for this conversion ?? SkipperT, can you help me with this please so that I can finish my conversion ??

I bought the Haynes service manual for the MT09/Tracer/FJ09 and it says that you should put the bike in 6th gear and get a mate to sit on the bike and hold on the brakes and it can easily be undone that way . It doesn't mention not to use an impact air wrench ??

Hello SkipperT, I am in the process of putting a slipper clutch to my Tracer but I m worried about removing the boss nut with an impact wrench because you say it can damage the shaft. So what is the best way to remvoe it ??

Has anybody tried installing a slipper clutch from a 2017 Yamaha Tracer on a 15/16 , perhaps its easier than installing one from the XSR ??
