  1. HOw accurate is the temp. reading? Started off at 37deg ended up at 33 with a dip in 32. *First time unintentionally lofting the front end also this morning. (well, my loft and your loft may be different..bwahahaha. I only noticed when it touched down again.) Does this thing power wheelie in STD with TC on? Hope not, lol.
  2. Rode to work since it's the first forecasted nice day. Handle bars are all straight now. Learned i had to tighten the right side before the left. Also as i was sitting on the bike i rotated the bars forward as much as possible without the controls being wonky. Thought it felt good. The ride in today says didn't really make a difference. *Also sent my carbs for the Honda off to be cleaned yesterday. Kinda bittersweet. Could have sold the bike AS-IS and not been so far in the hole. *Lastly i don't know how some people park there bike for the winter. It's only been a week and a half and i've missed it. Course i said that about the dirt bike and it's been sitting there for .....holy shit, about 8 months!!
  3. Loosen up everything except the top pinch bolts and bounce the front end and see if you cant get her straightened back out. Won't help if the bars are actually bent. How did she fall over, stand not all the way down? Got everything loose now. Not sure what the tightening procedure is. Just tightened the handle bar to risers and am now going to tighten the risers to the triple. Hoping this is right. Bar looks good. Everything looks straight as i hold it now, just need to make sure it stays that way when tightening everything. *yeah, full garage and being careless. I surprisingly didn't blow a gasket, hahaha.
  4. So jealous of you guys. I parked the bike in the garage 2 days ago and walked away to a big bang. Bars now have an odd angle to them from the triple up, LOL.
  5. Between 39 and 41 degrees this morning with that stupid mist. Even with those toasty heated grips i'm thinking it's time to dig out the winter gloves (really late fall gloves).
  6. You ride at Tahuya? If you know the single track lets ride sometime. Only been there twice and would get lost, lol.
  7. 12mm hex bit (socket) for taking out handle bar inserts
  8. Finally got around to installing my OEM heated grips. Now that i'm done and can look back on it...super easy install. Took me way longer than it should have but i wanted to do it right the first time. Even had the wife look at it to make sure i was routing it correctly. (Once again after asking for help she gave me that HORRIFIED look, had to assure her i was calm and collective) Missing an OEM zip tie so thought i was routing it wrong. Won't give a review since that's been done many times. The only thing i would warn against is they don't have the grip the stock ones do (which aren't great themselves with how the throttle works). Now i kinda see why some people like the Oxfords better. 62 degree morning. Not a heater morning, but the warmth in my hands still made me smile. end of my ride the last song was fitting i thank god everyday i wake up feeling this way...
  9. Can you elaborate a bit on that statement? Not trolling, as I respect whatever your personal opinion is of the bike, but just genuinely curious about what's behind that comment. Thanks! -Scott Not a problem. I get it. I see why everyone likes this bike. Will totally admit it puts a smile on my face twisting that throttle or flying down that road a little too fast and clamping on the brakes knowing i can easily stop in time. I like the fact i don't feel/look like a monkey F*#$ing a football like i do on the other bike, LOL. Appreciate the fact my back doesn't hurt on this bike as i get older too unlike more aggressive rides. Don't like that gravelly feeling between certain RPM's, nor the surging/hesitation that accompanies that. Also don't like the fact my hand/arm gets tired after 5 miles of riding. The harder i ride the faster, more it hurts. Don't like the light front end at 110+ I'm not a bling kinda guy. I prefer stock and prefer not to be spending extra money on stuff i don't need or if i do it should already come on the bike. There are a few other items but you get the idea.
  10. Got my plate yesterday so was able to ride into work today...happy *as much as i don't really like the FJ...OMG does it blow antiquated Honda out of the water. It will be up for sale next week.
  11. SIGH. Parked the bike 2 days ago. My last free ride across the 520 bridge, (about a buck ten 8D ). It was fun going on 3 months of temp plates being the hooligan. Now just sitting back waiting on my license plate to arrive. *i guess i forgot about the other 2 bikes.
  12. which grip heaters, or heated grips did you order?Sorry, you are correct. OEM style heated grips. The head of the service department argued AGAINST OEM and said to go with Oxford. Don't know why as everyone here sounds happy with theirs. I probably won't install mine once they come for a couple months. Just want them on hand so if i do find the time.... *installed grip heaters on another bike couple years ago. They worked awesome. As long as the grips themselves last i think the OEM should be even better then what i used long ago.
  13. Went out for an hour and half ride today then changed the oil and the filter along with chain maintenance. (lost feeling in my right hand). I'm going to keep changing the oil to different brands to see if there is a difference in the clutch. Astonished at the lack of fuel economy at 37mpg. Also took off the seats to see what was there...or not. I don't see any way to raise/lower the seat height. Maybe i'm missing a piece. Couldn't find any helmet cable either. Weirrrrrrd. I took pictures but also started drinking so can't find my phone.
  14. hmmm. Assuming clearance maybe.... *i get a 15 min lunch to read this forum and eat. cut me some slack
