  1. I am still interested in this and still hope for more information from someone who has done it. It is easy to find a shipping company with a search, hard to know if people have good experiences with them. I looked for Bike Flight, all I find is www.bikeflights.com/ which deals with bicycles not motorcycles. I just looked at Citizenshipper, it is a bid aggregator. Submit a pickup and dropoff location, and then you get a bunch of quotes from whomever. In two hours I got four quotes and one request for more detail on my scheduling flexibility (all I am doing is hypotheticals, I can't be specific on shcedule). Not quite what I was hoping for (maybe it has changed in 3.5 years). Anyone use a specific company and have a good result?
  2. I can't say for sure, but I very much *think* so. What I can say is that I installed older fj-09 case support brackets on my 2020 Tracer 900gt, and it worked perfectly with my 2020 gt cases.

  4. pictures and further info on the bag liners?
  5. Cool trip! that's the way to take a trip with the wife and kids! My one and only time in Florida (a moto trip reported on this forum in October 2019) I thought I never needed to see Florida again. But the Kennedy Space Center! That's pretty cool. I need to see Florida again. And yes, we're all jealous of @betoney. Even those of us that live in California but can't seem to get that many trips in.
  6. It's odd that Yamaha admits the stock seat is uncomfortable.
  7. Edelweiss Tours. I'll have to remember that to look into when I have the time ... Thanks for the story.

    Hot Pink

looking forward to seeing this bike!
  9. What do ya'll do for theft security of the GPS? Just take it with you when you leave the bike? That would feel like a nuisance to me, but it is an obvious high value target.
  10. I have a question on heated gear, like Gerbing heater jacket liners. Can you fold or stuff the gear into a bag (when not in use) without damaging the heating element wiring? It seems like the wiring would crimp and fail.
  11. I only use it for when I accidentally put it in Mode B. Generally mine is in Standard.
  12. Redline is just over 11k RPM. With some rounding, the stock gear ratios are about as follows Gear MPH/1000RPM 6 15 5 13 4 11.5 3 10 2 8 1 6 so you can get 100 MPH in 3rd gear at about 10k RPM. Or 100 MPH in 6th gear at about 6700 RPM. In 6th gear, 60 MPH would be ~60/15=4000 RPM. I don't think I've ever been at 100 MPH in 3rd, but certainly 4th, 5th and 6th.
  13. I'd be too afeared of someone crashing my bike and suing me to ever rent it. but I'm glad the services are out there.
  14. I lean to Sunday. I am trying to put together an outing to the SDSU Aztecs game Saturday for the opening of Snapdragon Stadium.
  15. Is there a preferred day this weekend for riding in the heat wave? Highs up to 113F in Borrego Springs this weekend, that could be a good route to put off until later!
  16. yes, nice. and given that you'll likely want to change the mirrors anyway (since they get loose and spin around), great mod! I wish I'd seen this before buying LEDs and new mirrors!
  17. Yes. I've heard it is not as bad on the 900GT as it was on FJ09, but I can't say. I generally use Std not A because I find A twitchy. For emissions fuel cuts off at off throttle, re-flash supposed to fix it. but I haven't done it.
  18. My problem was that the darned bulbous tumors would stick out so far that some times I scratched my car trying to pull the bike out of the garage. I would be more nervous with a protruding signal that is hard set and doesn't have some springy give to it. I installed the HighTechSpeed "Proton 500 Flushmount". Very bright, very compact. The downside of these is that they are so compact they are not visible from a wide range of front angles. It's not so bad, the folks in front and to my right can't see the left turn signal, but the ones in front and to the left can. None-the-less, I have been procrastinating installing additional signals on the hand guards for the last 2 years or so. While I was at it, I also did HighTechSpeed "X-Arc" for the rear signals. Bright and compact, looks good.
  19. Yes, perhaps Sept 3/4/5. Labor Day weekend. Happy bday to the lady.
  20. Does the member map still exist? can it be resurrected? I haven't been able find it since the site update, which must have been a good year or two ago.
  21. @ItsRichieRich, @jamespz03, shall we meet Saturday 8/27? opt 1. meet at Circle K SR76 & Old Hwy 395 (just off I-15) 11am. Scoot up Palomar South Grade, down the East Grade, stop at Josie's Hideaway on SR-76, get lunch, and ponder next steps. opt 2. meet at Josie's 11:30am, get lunch, do a loop. I am down for long rides. We could head from there to Borrego Springs and the 100+F heat :).
  22. I can't help wondering why it blew, and if it will blow again.
  23. There was something in Oregon, last ride of the year or some such. West coast, but far from San Diego! I could be game. Certainly still planning to reach out when my weekends clear. Maybe next weekend we can meet at Josie's Hideaway.
  24. One great thing about BMW and Ducati is they'll actually give test rides. I tried an S1000xr once. Endless power. More than I could wisely use. Fun test ride though.
