  1. I can see that with their sidetrax ones. The quadtrax ones look more like dirt bike pegs, with some fairly sharp looking serrations in a diamond pattern. The sidetrax look nicer though...
  2. I'm 6'7", 290lbs, 36" inseam. I've been hunting various options to improve comfort. Stock screen is garbage. Buffeting at highway speeds is shocking. I installed the givi short screen. Buffeting is gone. Clean air right into my helmet. They make a taller version, but I prefer the short one. Bar risers required. Also put a set of mirror extenders; need to see more then my shoulders. Seat is torture. I put a sheep skin from Alaska leather on it, which helps, but it's still super uncomfortable after an hour. That slope into the tank is unfortunate. I have a Corbin coming. Pegs. Torn between a set of Knight design pegs, or some generic mfw vario knockoffs from eBay. Leaving towards the Knight design ones. They make a 1.5" drop set for the MT10, that should fit.
  3. They add at least 10hp, though I believe the black and blue, non-gt, tracer is the fast one.
  4. I've been looking for options to lower my front foot pegs. I've looked at the mfw vario solution, which is nice, but completely unavailable anywhere I can find. Also, really expensive. There are the eBay a like ones, which will take months to get to me. There are some in Amazon, but similar issue, 2 months to get here. I've been looking at the knights design ones, which are really nice. There are 1" lower ones for the fj09. Interestingly, they offer 1.5" ones for the MT10. I'm much more interested in the 1.5" option. I'm 6'7", and need some leg room badly. KD Yamaha FZ-10 Extra Lowered Front Foot Pegs Extra Lowered Knight Design... I was looking at a set from wild hair accessories, and they list the same part for the peg for the mt09 and MT10. I know the mt09 peg interface is the same as the fj/tracer. Any idea about the MT10 peg mounting? Logically, it looks to be the same.
  5. I appreciate the inclusion here, and wish I'd paid more attention early on. I'm in Peterborough, and that's just too far to go for me as a kick off point (2 hours if traffic cooperates). I'll be passing on this one. If you all decide on something to the east of Toronto for the next one, I would be interested. Cheers guys, enjoy the ride.
  6. I had to move my insurance around this year. Cooperators is a no go. The Tracer is blacklisted. After a lengthy talk with my broker, I ended up moving my insurance provider, again.. I went through Ridersplus this time, ended up on Echelon , $1028 for the year, comprehensive. My experience with Cooperators was really negative. I was looking to move my car, house, and motorcycle, and they were not interested in any of my business. What they would quote me on was not competitive.
  7. I think the Bell fit is much closer to the Shoei fit. As mentioned above, the Scorpion fit pinches my forehead as well, while my current lid fits lovely (Bell Star in 3XL).
  8. Have you tried either of them on? Walked around the store for a bit while wearing them? If you haven't, do that first. Shoei and Scorpion have a different fit, and you might find one isn't comfortable. Personally, I like Scorpion helmets, but they fit terrible for me. I like the look, and the features. The shape is wrong however, and the shell runs on the small side. The Shoei helmets I've tried have all fit nicely. They do make a nice lid, but I feel like you're paying a little for the name too. I will say that I see conflicting ratings on that shoei helmet; some say DOT, some say ECE... I personally would never buy a DOT only helmet. I prefer snell and ECE rated lids. Scorpion is only DOT, which is disappointing. Check out Fortnine's video on DOT if you're not sure why DOT sort of sucks.
  9. I'm over 1500km on my tracer now, and it's smoothed out some. I would say it was definitely more vibey below 500km than it is now. I may have become used to it, and it still buzzes a little around 5000rpm, but it's overall smoother now. I read a similar thing, and thought it was BS, but it appears to be true.
  10. https://www.shopyamaha.com/product/details/tracer-900-rear-rack-top-case-mount?b=Sport+Touring+Accessories&d=48%7C48&ls=yamaha-motor-company&dealernumber= If it's that one, I would say yes.
  11. 450km on my new Tracer 900, non GT, and yeah, it's a little buzzy. Coming from a WeeStrom, it vibrates a little more. Nothing compared to a thumper though. It's not a deal breaker at all.
  12. Just for comparison, I'm in Ontario, and I'm at just under $1000 / year with Intac, full coverage, 2018 Tracer. 40, married, kids, 12 years riding and insured, no accidents. My company has a group discount with cooperators, which I intend to explore next year when I renew.
