I'm sure it's more about losing all the time and effort you put into upgrading and making the bike what you wanted it to be that hurts worse than just losing the bike.

Where did you get the gold chain? And did I see you mention before that you added two links when changing to the plus 2 rear sprocket?

I'm about to turn over 18,000 miles on my bike and the chain still seems to be okay.

I've had mine for a year and a half and have not seen another one in that time here in central North Carolina. When I picked it up in Charlotte it was the only one they had on the floor, don't know if they had any more in the back.

I've been using one for almost a year and I agree it is a great phone mount that easily and securely holds your phone without the need for special phone cases.

I can reccomend this mount, easy one handed mounting and removal of the phone and a secure grip that allows you to use it in either horizontal or vertical orientation. After losing an expensive phone on the highway because of a cheap mount, I bought this Tackform mount and have been very pleased with it. Wish that I had gotten it to start with.

Learned to ride on an old Triumph 650 back in 1974. It was one my brother bought from someone when he was in Air Force. It was a raggedy old piece of junk, some previous owner had tried to make a "chopper" out of it. Had extended forks and a tiny little fiberglass fuel tank. Kick start only, with the primer buttons on the carbs, rear brake pedal on the left and gear shift on the right. Some kind of electrical problem where it would misfire and bog down around 4500 rpms then pick up and run fine past 5000.

Holding the throttle steady and tapping the brake pedal works good to disengage the cruise control. I tried the long button hold to see if I got the 5 mph change and it doesn't work with mine. I have the original McCruise switch.

Here's how I mounted mine on my Givi bars. I got a cheap set off of Amazon and couldn't get the clamps to hold tight enough so I made my own clamps. As you can see I have them mounted high and forward, 2and3cylinders on this forum has some mounted on the lower part of the bars which would put them probably 8 to 10 inches forward of the stock pegs and about on the same level. I might have to give that position a try sometime.

No software adjustment, the instructions that come with it will tell you how to turn it on after you get it installed.

I have a 2017 FJ also, just recently bought the Yamaha quick shifter off of Amazon. It was approximately $147 with free shipping. The 2017 model does have a connector under the back of the fuel tank just waiting for you to plug your new quick shifter in. Makes for a very easy installation.

Kudos to captainscarlet for his write up on this installation. I finally installed my K-tech Razor today after putting it off for a couple of months. The captains technique was ok for removing the original shock, but there was no way I was going to be able to "fiddle" that front bolt into place. I couldn't even get the front of the shock to go into position. I finally gave in and removed the fuel tank. That made all the difference! Actually had room to get in there and place the bolt and tighten it up.

It really shines when you're accelerating hard, don't let off of the throttle at all and it will be some of the smoothest shifting you've ever done!

I'm not aware of what is involved with fitting it on the earlier models. I was thinking it just required a modification of the reflash, but I guess you don't have the the spare plug just waiting to be used. I only got to try it a bit yesterday...and I liked it!! Like everyone says you don't "need" it, but it does make some smooth, fast almost unnoticeable shifts on my bike.

What did you guys get your bike for Valentines day? I put a new Yamaha quick shifter on my 2017 FJ09. 😁

Just delivered by USPS!! Ordered from Omnia Racing on January 3rd. Should have gotten it Tuesday but it needed a signature and I was at work, then the post office kind of misplaced it for a few days. I've been listening to you guys singing praises about enhanced suspension, now I get to find out for myself. Might try the Andreani cartridges later. Revzilla has these Razors for $795, then last month they were on sale for $715 but I hesitated too long and the price went back up. Checking online I found them at Omnia in Italy for $551 including shipping, so I thought why not? The only drawback was waiting a month to get it. Anyhow I'll install this thing soon and see for myself what you guys have been raving about.

I've got the older style and it works great, except as already stated it does partially block the menu button. I have given some thought to maybe putting a riser of some sort on it to give more clearance. However unless you have abnormally long fingers I think you will find that you have to take your hand off of the grip to easily access the buttons. I wear an extra large glove size and it is a stretch for me. With that being said I think I would opt for the new style just so it wouldn't cover the menu button. If you do much riding on the highway or commuting you are going love the McCruise, it has got to be one of the best options you can add to the bike. The installation manual that comes with it is a fantastic step by step guide. Take your time and be patient and you can install it in a day.

Recieved these chain adjusters in the mail Wednesday form Betoney, took them to work yesterday and added some indexing marks centered on the axle holes. Will go by the post office today and send them on to fddriver. Hope he gets as many miles on his FJ this year as these things are getting on them making their way to him.🤣 Washington state to North Carolina to Florida.

The "New" in my forum name refers to my fj09, not me. I guess judging from your forum name we could assume that mentally you're only firing on two out of three cylinders. 🤣 As for the short legs, I have a 30" inseam and have no trouble reaching the ground or my pegs. The high and forward location makes a nice change on long trips especially with a duffel as a back rest. The big silver can is a Delkevic and has a pretty sweet sound without being obnoxiously loud.

I'll do them for free, just pay for shipping. Betoney can mail them to me and I'll forward them to you. As light as they are shipping can't cost much.😉

I'm 5' 9" and I tried the 20" screen per the Madstad site suggestion. While it did a decent job of blocking turbulence, at its highest setting I found that if I scrunched down a little it made the wind sound a lot quieter. Plus I didn't like the way it looked with the bottom of the screen being so high above the headlights. Madstad graciously agreed to exchange it for a taller model with me paying the price difference and shipping. To get the looks and quiet air I wanted I went with the 24" screen, that put the top higher for quieter air while letting the bottom stay closer to the headlights for a smoother visual transition in my opinion. And since it's my bike my opinion is the one that counts the most. Ymmv. I got the dark tint because I find it visually more appealing and even with the setup I've got I still look over the top of the screen when riding so I don't have to worry about the dark tint obscuring my vision at night.

Accuracy is not a problem when you have access to a milling machine with digital readout. Getting an index mark perfectly centered on the axle hole, not a problem. Want to send me yours and let me do them for you?

I'm thinking about giving these a try. Being a machinist I should have no trouble putting an index notch on the center pieces. As you well know, the stock setup certainly leaves a lot to be desired.
