  1. Hi CollingsBob, Loved riding my 2008 FJR a lot from 2010 to 2019 but as I got older it got heavier. At age 72 a 2019 Tracer 900 GT became my new ride and am very happy that I made the change. Looks like a lot of us here on the forum have successfully made the step you are considering. It might just extend your riding years another decade or two !! Best wishes, Frank.
  2. Hi Autiger, Welcome to the Group ! I hope you are able to get out on the roads on some of the warmer and less-icy days. Love your North Georgia area for riding as I'm from Florida and could reach TWO (now Two Wheels of Suches) in a day. Have also owned an FZ-1 and an FJR 1300 and purchased a Tracer 900 GT in September 2019. Needless to say I'm loving it as I suspect you will love your new Tracer 900. It is sooooo much lighter than the FJR, handles twisty roads easily and is comfortable on highways when the interstate is a must to get to better riding roads. Have fun customizing your new bike to make it more perfect for you. Hope to see you on the road someday in N. Georgia or N. Carolina or Tennessee or Virginia or W. Virginia. Frank.
  3. Hi vincep, Am happy to share info with this community. BTW, the 2020 bike looks suspiciously like the 2019 imho. Just sayin'. Previously rode an FJR so what I miss is electric windshield and shaft drive ... but at no extra weight added to my Tracer GT. HaHaHa. šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£. Frank.
  4. Now have an ANSWER to the original question asked in this thread. Thanks to all who replied to this and left comments. Purchased new 2019 Tracer 900 GT last week in Florida for $12,336 OTD. Very happy with the purchase and the mods are set to begin immediately. Frank.
  5. Thanks to those who have replied so far. Am gathering that cost could be $9400 for bike in AZ, $500 freight to dealer, $500 dealer set-up and prep, $500 for dealer documentation, registration, title, tag. That adds up to $10,900 plus 7%sales tax for OTD best case scenario of $11,663. For under $12,500, am kind of liking the idea of negotiating a good price, buying a low-cost one-way flight, flying out west to purchase, riding up through the Rockies and eventually back to home in Florida. So Forum members, do those calculations seem fairly accurate? What dealer fees have been overlooked ? Thanks again for reading/replying to these posts. Frank.
  6. Hey John, Did your figure of $11,500 already include dealer fees like freight fee, set-up fee, administration fee, other fees whose name I don't even know ? Am liking your OTD cost of $12,150. That's only a difference of $650 as compared to the $2800 difference between my local dealers advertised price and OTD cost of $13,600. Have other members had their OTD cost for the 2019 GT come below $12,500 ? Thank you to all who have replied and will reply. Frank.
  7. Hi Johnmark, Are you saying you paid $ 11,500 OTD for a 2019 GT ? Tell more about that, more details please. So far a dealer had claimed his price is now down to $10,800 with OTD at $13,600+ That sounds like a pretty huge gap. What does anyone think is a good price to buy the GT now 08/2019 ? Frank.
  8. Hi, Have enjoyed riding my used 2016 FJ09 for the past 7 months and am ready to pull the trigger on the purchase a new 2019 GT model. Would like to hear from owners what they paid OTD so I have some idea of what is a good deal or a fair deal or a bad deal before visiting any dealership. Am living on west coast of Florida, planning to trade in my old bike with 17,800 miles and pay the balance in cash. KBB lists trade-in value at $5200. Usually end up feeling taken advantage of by dealerships with their multiple hidden fees, redundant fees, mystery fees, pressure tactics, etc. So forum members any ideas about what is a good price Out The Door for new GT in August 2019 ? Your replies are most appreciated. Frank.
  9. @unicycle52 and @redfjniner , Hi there, Realize this is a very old post ... but has anyone figured out how to lower the bike beyond the lowering link out back (T-Rex) and raising the fork tubes ? Have already purchased a Sargent seat but would still be happier if I had a more secure footing in dirt, wet grass and loose gravel. Any suggestions of where on the Forum to do further searches would be most appreciated. Thanks from Frank.
  10. Hi @phpaul, So now it's a year later. Did you ever put the windscreen back on ? If so how did it work in conjunction with your aluminum panel mod in place ? Thanks, from Frank.
