  1. I still haven’t ridden since mid November. It’s either been raining or too cold.
  2. Yeah, I had one of my OEM mirrors constantly coming loose, too. i have the mirrors still. I’m not so sure about the bar ends though. I’ll look tomorrow after work and see and shoot you pictures of the mirrors.
  3. It was more aesthetic than anything else. I looked for a picture yesterday but can’t find any. I guess I didn’t take any of it.
  4. Yes, I got it figured out and ended up not liking the bar end set up on the Tracer for whatever reason. I went back to OEM within a week. So now I have brand new bar ends sitting in the box gathering dust. I already have a set on my Monster or I’d put them on it.

    Let's talk GLOVES!

You’re not helping. Lol I’m such a gear whore, especially gloves.
  6. Maybe because I also have another motorcycle in the garage like you do? And it just so happens to be said Ducati? Jesus, why are you trying to make something out of nothing...
  7. I never said it does. I simply agreed with you that they sound great.
  8. I agree on the V-Twin sound being intoxicating. Especially an Italian one mates to an Akra pipe with the db killer removed {insert evil laughter}.
  9. Have you thought about a Seth Lamm seat? A friend had his Tracer seat done by him and was very happy with it.
  10. What would be a good, but not break-the-bank 1/4” torque wrench? I love my 3/8 Kobalt, but Lowes doesn’t have a 1/4”.
  11. Vinyl these days is pretty damn tough and realistic. I added some over my carbon fiber fender on my Monster and people tell me it looks like it's been painted.

    Sold

Thanks. I think I'll just retype everything and see if editing it fixes that.
  13. Sounds like the Soundbomb Mini I bought for mine 3 years ago. Plug-n-Play single horn. No, it's not as loud as the dual unit that requires a relay and new wiring, but it a crapload louder than the OEM. Mine was priced about the same if I remember correctly - about $30US.
  14. Without the context of what I’d said previously, I have no idea what you mean.
  15. I started to consider selling mine since I'm looking for an Alaska bike. I could buy a cheap third bike but I think I might want to stay a 2 bike garage.
  16. I'm south too (Locust Grove). From everything I've heard about MMS Roswell since getting the Monster, avoid them. While I haven't been a WOW fan in the past, from what I've heard, all/most of Mark's crew from DucShop have migrated to WOW. When it's time for service on my Monster. I too chose the newer 1200 over the 1100 for the extended service intervals.
  17. So, this picture is what I need some confirmation on about removing. I’ve taken the hand guards off my 2019 GT and want to go with bar ends/ bar end mirrors. I just want to make sure the black piece that has a 14mm female hex is to be removed. I can’t see enough inside the grip end to make sure it is just in snug with Loctite. {edit} bit the bullet and put the 14mm in it and broke it loose. Now I have bar end mirrors finally.
  18. And it follows along CA4 that I love. In 2017, I was on a California ride and one day we were on 4 and stayed in Arnold at the Meadowmont Lodge. Nothing fancy at all but everything you need and owners that did anything for you to make your stay pleasant. Big plus is the Snowshoe Brewery literally across the street with a restaurant. Sadly Ebetts Pass was closed so we didn't get to go much further up 4.
  19. Nowhere near my first change. I have over 20k on the clock but somehow the filter got super tight.
  20. After my 3000 mile trip a couple weeks ago (did 12 SE states on almost exclusively 2-lane backroads), I decided to change the oil and clean her up. I've just completed the oil change. Thank goodness for the fans I have in the garage to keep from absolutely sweating to death. The oil filter did not want to come off. The sized filter remover and even my nylon strap remover didn't budge it, so it was Channel Locks to the rescue! The filter held on for dear life but eventually relented. I had picked up a lot of Shell 4T oil for the Tracer and Ducati when Advance Auto put it on sell back in the winter, so I gave her the good stuff. One thing to note is that I almost overfilled her. Luckily I short fill my changes, start the bike, let it get to temp, and then turn it off and let it settle to check the level. I noticed it was pretty damn close to the upper end of the sight glass. I did some math (I was already barefooted, so that helped) and then looked at the bottle. That's when I noticed the Shell bottles are in litres, not quarts! I was still just under the 2.7L the service manual calls for. Now it's time to pretend it's a Harley and clean it stem to stern. {I have no idea why it uploaded the first two pictures upside down and the third correctly}
  21. I've had both the current 22's and previous 21's. They'll give you a better than you'd think life, at least they did with me. I currently have a set on my 2018 Monster 1200 and once the PR5's are used up on the Tracer, I'll put another set of 22's on it. And you're right about the effing sidewalls. Think a 180 is bad? The 190/55 on the Monster almost had me throwing tools. I even had to break out some additional spoons to aid the No Mar.
  22. Been away for a while but just read this. Sorry you had to pay that bill to find out. I’d changed my sprocket to a 15T also back in the Fall and like you, my CC would just disengage seconds after activating it. I always suspected it might be the sprocket but would then say to myself that it couldn’t be simply because of that. I ordered a new OEM sprocket and retaining nut months ago as a “just in case” and went about riding my new-to-me Monster 1200. Now that I have a set of PR5’s to put on before a weeklong trip at the end of the month, I’m definitely encouraged to put that new OEM sprocket on and get my CC back as well.
  23. I believe (but could easily be wrong) that the 1200 is very similar from 2017 onward. I know the engine, chassis, and electronics are the same with possibly minor tweaks. The price difference doesn't begin to make it worth buying a new one for 18k.
