  1. Hi LittleBruv....any experience with the Magura clutch in actual use?... Thanks for the reply... Cheers, John H.
  2. Hi Skip...thank you for your thoughts...interesting Cheers, John H.
  3. Hi Skip..thanks for your reply... Do you recommend the Magura clutch?... Do you think it will help my issue which is, the friction zone on my wired clutch is all the way out at the end of the throw and makes it hard (for me) to consistently and smoothly launch the bike... Do the Magura cables have much slack in them...I have a riser on my handlebars which uses the stock lines... Anything you'd like to mention from your experience with the clutch would be helpful... Thanks for you help...John H.
  4. Hi JoJoSz...Sorry to bother you after all this time..I have a 2015 FJ 09 and am interested in the Magura clutch for my bike...the problem I'm trying to solve is that my clutch is way out at the end of the throw/travel... hard for me to launch properly...would the Magura clutch help with this?...and do you have to remove the fuel tank to install?... Thanks for any help... John Helms, Houston, TX
  5. Hi NorCal...thanks for the prompt and detailed reply...much appreciated...John H.
  6. I recently bought a used 2015 FJ 09...It did not come with a manual... I am confused about how the traction control (TC) works on this bike... I have a TC button on the left side of the display... a TC light seems to come on when the bike starts and then goes off...does that mean the TC is active?...does this bike have TC-1 and TC-2?...how do you access those settings?...I have played with this with the bike stopped and in motion and can still not figure it out... I would prefer to have the TC on in the lowest assist mode all the time... Any help appreciated... Thanks, John H.
  7. Thanks One for the reply...guess if I was more of a mechanic (which I'm not) this would have been obvious...if I give it a try, I'll report back... John H.
  8. Thanks Betoney...I have aftermarket springs up front... and a large windscreen...don't know if those help... I haven't experienced the wobble, as I have not approached 100 MPH, and probably never will... but good to know and will watch for it...John H.
  9. Thanks johnmark and 1more for your thoughts...I think the FJ handles OK... it's not the quickest turning bike I have ridden...certainly decent and fun to ride... 1more, can you elaborate on your comment that people think the FJ is unstable?... in what respect?...would like to know...and how, in general, do you raise the forks?...not sure about a wide (5 inch rim) 110 tire...did a little looking but could not tell much... Thanks for everyone's input...John H.
  10. Has anyone tried a smaller front tire ( like a 110), to improve handling?... Thanks, John Helms
  11. Thanks John and Koth for your replies...
  12. I recently bought a used 2015 Yamaha FJ 09…the bike has 5500 miles and a full-race Akrapovic exhaust system (from the engine header)…other than that, the engine is stock…the bike allegedly has Ohln front shocks and an aftermarket rear shock… I would like to “flash” the ECU for the following benefits: smoother throttle response in all three drive modes; reliability; drivability; and to tune the engine to the Akrapovic exhaust…I am not concerned with extracting all the horsepower I can…the bike has more than enough for me…I’m 73… With those parameters in mind, who would you recommend to “flash” my ECU and why?.... Thanks, John Helms, Houston, Texas
