  1. I have one of these ... about 20K miles into installing it my faring stay broke, I think the pressure of the massive windscreen over time was too much for it. I installed a new one that someone welded and reinforced.
  2. Bought these BMW Ride sneakers on a whim and they have quickly become my favorite sneaker style boots I have owned. + Stylish - very casual non-moto look, lots of people ask what kinda shoes i'm wearing + Comfortable - breath really well + Easy to use - Inside zipper is LIFE CHANGING ... takes 2 seconds to get in and out of + Durable - Ive worn these 5 days a week for about 6 months ... still in fantastic shape. Honestly thinking about buying another pair incase they stop making them! BMW Ride Sneakers Riding shoes with the styling of a casual sneaker and the features of...
  3. Not for the faint of heart, no guard rails and massive 500+ foot drops. Mosquito ridge is a 44 mile lumber road just west of lake Tahoe. Honestly one of the best roads i've ever ridden. Incredibly fast twisty roads with great road conditions. I think I saw a total of 3 cars on it for the 2 hours I raced around it. Not my video .. but gives you an idea of what you're getting into.
  4. I have done this at my neighborhood pool ... people though i was some crazy guy πŸ˜„ .. HOA doesnt say anything about motorcycle tires in the pool ... definitely does now
  5. is the McCruise the $500 one sold on a sketchy website? I seem to remember looking into this at one point.
  6. Hey man I live in NoDa. Im always flyin around on my FJ ... although im currently trying to sell it
  7. I've been using Pilot Road 4/5s for the last 40K miles and I love them: Pros: +Super sticky in the twisties +Heat up quickly +VERY noticeable difference in stopping in the rain +Tire life is good (around ~8K for the rear the way I ride) Cons: +Expensive If you ride a lot in the rain and inclement weather I highly recommend these, otherwise I would go another route. I have not tried the "GT" version yet, curious if anyone on here has.
  8. This looked so cool until I saw it was a twin ... cant think of a more boring, uninspiring engine.
  9. There is a distribution center in Charlotte NC. I may know someone there with the hook up πŸ˜‰. I gave a few friends a ride here and there. 95% was solo.
  10. chain maintenance is easy! just dont do it while the bike is running 😁
  11. yes, this was a pain in the butt to fix!
  12. Hey guys! Wanted to show off my touring build. Built this bike back in 2017 to do a 4 month trip around the US! Feel free to ask any questions. List of upgrades:Givi 2122DT windscreen Givi D2122 fit kitGivi EH2122 Hans extensions Givi ES2122 side stand plate Givi TN2122 engine guard Givi PL2122 side mounting hardware Givi SR2122 rail mounting hardware Givi 48L outback side cases Givi 58L outback tail case Corbin saddle, ordered direct from Corbin SW Motech quick lock 22L tank bag SW Motech mounting hardware Denali Sound Bomb Horn Speigler brake line Skene P3 brake lights Tail clean up and oxford turn signals Oxford heated grips Clearwater Darla lights
  13. Everything is working now. Speedo is very close to GPS, all three lights (ABS TC and Check Engine) are off. Life is good.
  14. 05/06/20 update Installed a new sensor, very easy to do! The check engine light is now off and so is the TC light. HOWEVER the ABS light is still on without the check engine light and the speedo is wildly off.
  15. @skipperT and @texscottyd great advice from both of you, thank you! Ive order a new sensor as mine is a little dinged up. Will follow up in a week!
  16. Hi all, Recently a check engine light came on. It also disable my ABS and TC. I cleared the code once, and now my speedometer is off and all the lights are back on. Attached is a photo of the OBDII reading. At first I thought maybe it was the ABS sensor on the front wheel, but others have suggested that it may be the speed sensor in the transmission? Cheers
  17. Bought speiglers probably 10,000 miles ago. Night and day difference. Master cylinder still sucks though 😩
  18. No cruise control. 5 dollar cramp buster love the Clearwater lights. 110% recommend these. Customer support is amazing. The lights have a dial that allow you to adjust them rather than just a low/ setting which is awesome. Very high quality product, it’s worth spending the extra cash for the Clearwaters.... they keep saying that they are making flood lights and I will definitely buy a set when they come out. Im not the brightest crayon in the packet and I managed to instal them with little issue.
  19. Brake lines are 100% worth it. Very noticeable difference. The brakes are way more consistent especially during heavy usage and have more bite. If I could do it again I wish I had swapped the master cylinder for maybe an r6 or r1. I’m used to a brembo master on my track bikes so I like having a sharp stiff bite ... not everyone wants that though. I attempted to swap the brake lines, and half way through realized the bike has ABS and I’ve never worked on brake lines with ABS before 😬. With my tail between my legs I Ended up having to take it to the dealership .... If you are very mechanically inclines you may be able to do it yourself!
  20. Hey everyone, Bought my '17 FJ 09 almost two years ago to do a 3 month trip on. Here are a list of some of the mods I have on the bike. This site doesn't seem to like the pictures I upload so I will have some soon. Thinking about getting any of the following? (Givi has a distribution center in Charlotte where i live 😁) Givi 2122DT windscreen Givi TN2122 crash guards Givi EH2122 hand guards Givi full trekker set (48L side bags and 56L tail) Givi ES2122 side stand foot SW Motech 22L EVO 2.0 tank bag Denali Sound Bomb Spiegler steel brake lines Oxford Heated Grips Clearwater Darla lights Corbin Saddle Skene P3 tail lights Probably forgetting some things... This is the first yamaha/spot touring bike i've owned and I have to say i'm very happy with it. Right at 37xxx miles and I have had zero mechanical issues. Other than replacing the tires, oil and spark plugs this machine wants to keep rolling!
  21. Maybe I am πŸ˜‚ ... oh well, made another one!
  22. Whats up guys! Sold my three track bikes and bought a 2017 FJ09 in the summer of 17 do to a 3 month cross country trip on! After 2 years and 37xxx miles of riding I couldn't be happier with the bike! I've kitted it out pretty good, so if you have any questions on aftermarket stuff please let me know! Cheers Reid
