  1. In Europe, the GT+ has been available as a '23. In Europe they will continue to have a choice between the 9GT and 9GT+. Only the GT+ model gets the new switchgear and 7" TFT in addition to the other tech goodies, the GT continues with the 2 TFT screens, scroll wheel and the standard switch gear, much like when Yamaha introduced the 900 and 900GT models had different speedometers. I'll be trading in my 900GT for the 9GT+. In Canada, we only have the GT+ model available and it is priced within $300 of the FJR! I used to have an FJR and don't want any bike that weighs more than 500 lbs. My dealer informed me that the bike has been received, but Yamaha's pannier supplier has had supply chain issues so the panniers will be shipped to the dealer when they become available. It's winter here, so not an issue. I won't be picking up the bike till spring.
  2. The German prices posted above include 19% VAT, so we'll see what Yamaha US will price it at. If they offered a model without the adaptive cruise control, I'd opt for that to save $$. Hopefully, the 9GT also gets rid of the 2 TFT screens in favor of one large screen.
  3. I had one. I didn't like using it, or storing it. And lifting the bike isn't as quick as using a paddock stand. p.s. And for someone like me who owns multiple bikes, you need a different ABBA stand adapter for each one. With the paddock stands, you just need bobbins on the swingarms..
  4. I have one, it's pretty good but not quite as good.. I have another bike without a center stand so this will work on both.
  5. I always struggled to turn my bike around in the garage.. I finally broke down and ordered these: https://www.dynamotousa.com/?utm_source=mailchimp&utm_campaign=02002ac2e1f0&utm_medium=ad&gclid=Cj0KCQiArt6PBhCoARIsAMF5wagyisYGGDWksoee5oAoi79c4dpbLjlLaNKmE4B8cCEEFV8-XQnZaicaAhMyEALw_wcB# Very well engineered and a high quality product. Now I can spin the bike around with ease..
  6. Welcome to the forum! The bike has the right balance of comfort, power and weight. Please post a pic of your bike if you can.
  7. @Rovari @dazzler24 Have you installed the TPMS on the OEM rubber tire valve stems or have you replaced them with metal ones? Thanks.
  8. Mine came in the bag with the extra key.. What's its purpose?
  9. Some motorcycles' vibrations are known to kill the image stabilization of some mobile phones from Apple to Android. What works for me is the Quad Lock vibrations damper, with a Quad Lock case and rain cover. No issues at all in the rain, as I also prefer using navigation apps such as Waze with real time traffic updates than using my Garmin GPS.
  10. I could live with the daytime running lights and the headlights where they are, but the 2 protruding air intake snorkles make the front end look even more disjointed. I like to get a new bike every couple of years and would have traded my 19GT for this one, not that I ever thought my 19GT was a great looking bike, but if this is the look of the new GT, I'll have to see it in the flesh but I'm not optimistic I'll like it any better.
  11. I had a `19 Vstrom 650 XT, bought it new and sold it after 600 miles.. It a competent bike but I wanted more power. I'm very satisfied with my 900GT. I replaced the footpegs before I even rode it, with FJR cloned copies off Amazon for $10. No buzziness in the footpegs at all. If you can ride one, try it..
  12. Woody's Wheel Works in the Denver, CO area will repair the wheel as good as new.
  13. This is a better design than the original. Thanks for sharing your pics 👍
  14. that's what I did after my last ride.. tomorrow I'll find it if it holds or moves.. The mirror moves at high speeds (140 - 150 km/h (90/95 mph) on short bursts when passing. Hopefully it won't move now.
  15. that's just it, there aren't 2 nuts! There's only one, hence our dilemma. Virtually all other bikes I've had with mirrors attached to the handlebars have 2 nuts, one tightens against the other and the mirror doesn't move.
  16. If you do, please let us know if you were successful and a pic or two would help.
  17. When I do moto tours in Europe I use a certain touring company to rent bikes from and they used to have Triumph bikes but have recently stopped carrying them due to warranty issues with Triumph where they drag their feet on approving warranty repairs, so the bikes cannot be rented as they wait for weeks for approval.. For reliability, I'd stick with the FJR. A great bike, I had it and the Gen1 and Gen2 SuperTenere and now Tracer, as I was seeking less weight.
  18. On this note, can someone please educate me on how to tighten these mirrors? no matter how tight I have that large nut, the mirror will still be pushed backwards by the force of the wind. On many of my previous bikes, there would be 2 nuts one tightened against the other keeping the mirror from moving. I just can't seem to secure mine and the wind pushes them towards me. 🤷‍♂️
  19. I'm pretty sure I got it from this seller, but the shipping was free, now he's charging shipping so look around, the key thing to note is this: Look at your stock key and see if it's right slot or left slot. My Tracer has a right slot as pictured above and in my own pic. And sellers on Ali express tend to be cheaper as ebay charges higher commissions. 1 pcs Red Blank blade uncut motorcycle Key for YAMAHA Free Shipping | eBay Find many great new & used options and get the best deals for 1...
  20. I had a Yamaha SuperTenere which had an immoblizer and a red key. The quality of red key top isn't up to Yamaha standards but for the buck I paid for it with shipping it's fine and it's better than the cheap black keys that come with the bike. The red top is easier to see at a glance when I'm walking away from the bike when I look again to see that I have removed the key.
  21. I had the key cut and it's what I'm using now. No problem. It may be incompatible with your bike if your bike has an immobilizer, but CDN/US bikes don't. Heck the nice man who cut the key for me didn't even charge me for it.
  22. you can get these copies for much less or yamaha LED knock offs for a bit more, but for LED turn signals you will need to replace the turn signal flasher with an LED compatible one, also cheap, plug and play. 23. went for a ride near Gatineau Park in western Québec, Canada. Fantastic bike!
  24. The dealer or the previous owner must have installed it. It didn't come from the factory that way.
