  1. Thank you all for this thread. Just did this mod with the Heat Demon warmers, and they are fantastic. Yes, the left is less warm than the right, but for NYC these days, the right at max level is way too warm anyway.
  2. Wireless charger phone holder. It is on a steel bracket that I use to raise the angle of the stock windscreen. The phone slides in and out without any connection required.
  3. Solved it. I purchased my bike used at a dealership. The battery has a foam pad that sits on the left side of it, that keeps the battery tight in its spot. This foam pad was instead installed under the battery, and therefore the battery was sitting taller. The new bracket now sits with the feet on the frame, and does not touch the battery at all.
  4. I have had a problem with the under seat bracket splitting apart in the high position. This was posted on Facebook a few days ago. Mine broke in exactly the same position. https://www.facebook.com/groups/244679952586464/permalink/1468258506895263/ Anyone had the same issue with their bike? What I am noticing now that the replacement part is here, is that it does not sit flat, but the middle sits on the battery, and the feet which should sit on the frame, are lifted. So, when placing the seat on, the bracket bends with the weight of the rider, and with time it breaks. There is a video on the Facebook post that shows this exactly. Anyone can tell me if the battery is the issue? Is my battery original (I bought the bike used)?
  5. The bike was for 2 years in Atlanta with the previous owner and 6 months in Miami with me. Now we moved NY (Finger Lakes), so no corrosion from sea anymore. Road salt is another beast. The good thing is that I don't really care that much to go and work on it. Just wanted to post for people who might have had the same issue.
  6. Happened around a month ago in Florida. Riding with friends and we got caught in rain heading back. Pictures during the ride show that the damage was not there before the rain. The rain peeled the paint from both mirror attachments. You can clearly see the shape of the droplets. I am guessing due a high amount of sand in it. Just a heads up in case you hear of sand coming towards you.
  7. Two it's enough. Yup, they are ugly! And yes, Yamaha sells them as if they were made of gold. I wonder if they would give you $18 to take them back! Let me know about price and shipping. I don't need them right away, so the cheapest USPS option is fine. Thanks!
  8. I didn't want to buy new since I know the reflectors are usually discarded on day 1. The saddlebag braces are often replaced with aftermarket ones (which I guess is what the first owner of my bike did, before trading it in and forgetting to bolt them on again). I might have the chance to get them through a dealership Yamaha Parts Catalog View the Yamaha Parts Catalog. Save parts to your wishlist to... but wanted to try here first.
  9. So, I thought about posting this in the sale section, but was unsure, since I am not selling but willing to buy. I need a few parts that you might have sitting in your garage, and might be willing to remove from your life. I purchased my bike used and I am trying to restore the factory look. I am aware that this goes against the deepest beliefs of many users of this forum. Here the parts: Left and right saddlebag attachment stays (braces), including screws, collars and washers. Left and right (same) rear reflectors and nuts. In the picture below you can see the parts in detail. Please let me know if you are willing to sell them to me and how we can arrange for shipping. Thanks!!
  10. I was there on Saturday morning to pick it up. Flew in and rode back all in one day. Quite the adventure.
  11. You are right, I might purchase the saddlebag holders and tail orange reflectors that are missing, just to restore the factory look!
  12. I purchased the bike from WOW Motorcycle in Atlanta, GA. I live in Miami, FL. While they offer shipping at a reasonable price to my area ($250) I chose to fly in and drive the bike down (mostly to enjoy the ride). The bike is a 2017 FJ-09 which had 1,040 miles at the moment of purchase. I paid $7,250 (was listed for $6,970) as an out of state purchase, and I will have to pay taxes and registration here in Miami once they ship me the title. If you are or know the previous owner of this bike, please contact me. I'd like to have a chat regarding your experience with it. I don't plan to do major modifications to it, but plan to ride it a lot. I also enjoy taking pictures of it. In case you have Instagram, you can follow me at https://www.instagram.com/moto_piper/
  13. Hi all, Longtime lurker of the forum here. I have enjoyed your posts on technical issues, solutions, trips, and curses to mama Yamaha. I just wanted to share my experience with the bike so far, and leave some info for someone who is looking to buy a FJ-09.
