Cancel the King of the Baggers racing, 80mph top speed is pretty boring racing. Sounds like there isn't much science involved if the limit applies no matter the bags, bike, riding conditions, etc. In a dearth of proven facts I'll rely on my own assumptions and experiences. How do we join up with the official rebellion?

No, you definitely aren't an accomplished law scholar are you? Speeding tickets are caused by the police being in the wrong place at the wrong time and them having some weird hangup about their perceived "speed limit" and decide to waste your time and money. There really is nothing about it that it is our fault. Exceeding the recommended speed with cases simply brings extreme shame amongst your family and more importantly your motorcycling brethren. We don't approve of the excessive risk taking caused by going more than 80 with cases on. Total embarrassment to the hobby. I would elaborate more, but I'm late for my moorish citizen meetup. That is interesting. Is it the same for NY? Not that it matters much, I never saw track security once while I was there.

In response to the original question, without a doubt I would do whatever I could to get my hands on a KTM Super Duke GT. Similar to the Tracer but also very unique. Probably one of the top 5 engines anywhere right now (yamaha triple is on the list too). I wouldn't kick a multistrada V4 out of be either. The small problem with them is the $$$$$

I wonder what my limit should be with my shad semi-hard cases on my non-GT? I have a feeling I broke the rules there. Or maybe the rules don't apply? I need to take it up with the yamaha supreme court. I can confirm that I have verified on a closed course (the track I lovingly refer to as that State of West Virginia) that the saddlebags do significantly limit my top speed to about 125. And that is with them empty.

I say go for it Heavy, you can be the guinea pig. It won't be hard to find a replacement stock seat if it goes bad, I know I have one collecting dust in my garage. Along with a Corbin that I don't use.

Can confirm that they can't even protect themselves in a drop. I've wondered about removing them, but I worry that it would increase handlebar vibrations. Is that not the case?

I have a similar issue on my '19 with 7k miles. Mine doesn't sound as bad, but I can pull it out of the garage on a cold day after sitting for a month and it fires up with 1/2 second push of the starter. Ride for 30 miles, make a quick stop, try to restart and it cranks over for 4 seconds, starts, dies, and then on second try works perfectly again. My plan is to go through it this spring, will be the first time even having the tank off.

I can't tell if that color is horrendously ugly or awesomely ugly. Either way, rock on.

I bought a used Sergeant from a member here, I then took it apart and cut down the foam hump in the back of the riders seat to flatten it out. Seems to be a lot better. Now I think I want to get a pad for the longer rides. I have no OEM padding in my butt which adds a little extra challenge. I don't think I've ever noticed the stickiness of the stock seat being a problem. But I didn't ride with it too long anyway. I liked the corbin for spirited riding, it worked well. Just when the road straightens out it got painful. Just seemed to force me to sit on pressure points in my butt. Like I said, I think it is 100% just the configuration of me that is the problem.

This seat is still for sale if there is anyone thinking this is the year for a replacement.

My wife had a Z-400 for a short while. Same bike as the ninja but a bit more neutral seating position. I rode the bike once and I still feel the pain. Extremely uncomfortable for me. I had that many bikes in my garage last winter, kid moved and took his cbr600 with him, wife sold her bonneville. Now I'm down to the Tracer and the Honda Dream that is non-functional parts bike. I have another dream that is on shelves or in ziplock bags.

I think the idea is that you look at what is happening when leaned over, not when vertical. Of course I still don't understand. Looks like water will be pushed to the inside of the turn when turning. Which kind of makes sense.

I don't have a lot of confidence in this article, seems like they are trying to sensationalize something that is probably nothing. Goldwing is probably dropping the auto trans base model, gsxr 250 is probably getting bumped to 300. FJR is probably going to take a year off and come back faster and lighter and even better. My theory is that "dropping from lineup" is being taking too literally.

Hey, wait. This is how I ended up the the Tracer in the first place. I had a V strom 650. This was a huge performance upgrade.

For clarification I'm oddly proportioned, I'm all limbs. I'm 6-2 but have a 36" inseam and a 7ft wingspan. Really the bike in general has fit me well, and fits me well with the stock seat and the handlebars where they are. I thought I could cope with losing a couple inches with the corbin but no luck. But, the seat is still significantly more comfortable than stock. I could see that if I didn't have the leg and arm issues the seat would be perfect.

I'm sort of surprised at getting harrassed for not spending hundreds, if not thousands upgrading my motorcycle. Farkle-cism hurts us all.

I've already switched the bar mounts forward and rotated the bars as far forward as I can. I would love them to go more, but the controls don't rotate and it gets wonky going further. A different bar bend would be cool but I get so overwhelmed trying to figure out which bar to order. Even if I could accomplish that, I still think the seat wouldn't be right for me. And it definitely shortens up the seating area from stock, I can move quite a bit further back with the stock seat.

My bike is obviously pretty stock. I've pushed it pretty hard into the twisties many times and had 100% fun. Doesn't make sense to spend hundreds of dollars when I'm already at 100%. Yeah, maybe I would be faster, but I ride alone so I don't need to keep up with anyone. I'm already plenty over the speed limit.

I'm the opposite, I always leave it in B mode. Making minor adjustments to throttle input when leaned over has cause some scary reactions by the bike. I don't feel like riding in A makes me any faster. But then again I haven't switched it in a long time, maybe I should give it another try.

I rattle can painted the white "wings" on my bike a satin black. Removed stickers and emblem, hand sanded, painted, replace the "Tracer" and the emblem, left off the "goo". I didn't like it much and it wasn't salvageable anyway. Maybe it could've been, but I didn't try hard. Anyway, very happy with the results, came out looking like a professional paint job somehow.

That is a good question, their website won't tell you shipping costs until after you put your credit card info in. I think it was in the $50 range, so it starts to approach $700.

I've had this seat for a couple years thinking eventually I would learn to love it and I haven't. I have very long arms and legs and the problem is that I can't slide far enough back in the seat. My 1400 mile trip I just got back from resulted in me thinking I either need a different seat or an entirely different bike. I love my bike too much to risk getting rid of it. I don't have the sliding forward issue on it like the stock seat, I just want to be able to sit further back. Just wanted to clarify that. I believe I paid about $600 for it, I'm willing to let it go for $400 plus shipping. I currently don't know what shipping would cost but if there was interest I would box it up and get a price before finalizing a deal.

Why does nobody mention the Dunlop Roadsport 2s? Are they embarrassingly too cheap for anyone to admit they buy them? They seem like they are actually a good option.
