  1. In doing more research I have found that the max capacities are that much higher on bigger, more touring-specific bikes, such as the 2018 Goldwing is 420 pounds. So two things are going to happen, Im going to finalize my purchase on the Tracer on Saturday, and Im going to lose some weight (still get an upgraded rear shock, Hello beautiful Ohlins) and gonna ditch the panniers and just do some short distance riding.
  2. Unfortunately it seems for something for both of us to use Ill have to go up to something more substantial in size. I know the BMW F Series bikes handle about another 100+ pounds than the Tracer but still pushing it. I'm just large framed as it is, straight out of Basic Training I was still 224 pounds. Guess I need to shift my research to Gold Wings or the sort. Ugh.
  3. I don't think we are going to do long distance touring 2-up with the Tracer, so I wont be using the panniers (looking at the Corbin seat with the accessory removable backrest for her. I was mostly looking for something comfortable for me, more so than my 2017 SV650 (Im 6'1") with the occasional maybe 4 hour ride with the two of us. That being said, if she enjoys riding on the back then Ive already been eyeing a Can-Am Spyder RT for those long/multi-day trips where she wants to go along. But you raise some good points @tktplz
  4. Hello all, I currently am awaiting a 2020 Tracer GT to be assembled by my local Yamaha dealer (been delayed due to builder quarantine). However, I have a couple questions before I purchase it. Max payload. I know this can be increased by upgrading suspension (fork cartridges and rear shock) but to how much? Im 260 ish and my wife is 150 without gear, and without panniers filled. Is this bike even capable for these weights with its subframe with suspension upgrades? If it's not able to handle this load reliably I may just look to an MT-10 just for myself to commute as the main reason I was looking at the Tracer was for semi-comfortable 2-up riding.
