While searching for a cheaper option for 60cc 183g Co2 canisters I came accross the $84 Air Bag vests available online? They look like Helite copies and some sellers include 3 x Co2 canisters that often sell for $30 each. I'm sure the quality of the vests are suspect, and one would wonder if they would hold air on impact. Regardless at $84 they are tempting. What prompted this thread is that I was given some lightly used off road gear by a friend, who suggested I should be wearing a neck brace all the time. The neck brace I received is very like the one @jthayer09 linked above. Very tidy and unobtrusive. I am awaiting my AirBag Vest and Jeans from Mo'Cycle but could see wearing a light neck brace otherwise.

I came across a video on you-tube discussing all the ways we can damage our necks and our life by landing on our heads. How many of you wear a neck brace while riding on the road. Pretty long video so jump ahead to the 9 minute mark if you want to see the testing... Can a neck brace make a difference?

I have the Neotec 2 and while I like the fit I find it noisy. Especially the top vent, it causes a boom. Maybe it's related to my screen? I wouldn't consider it light either but it is well balanced. I don't think I would buy another, even at the discounted rate. I do like the rachet strap, hated fumbling with the D rings on my old lid. I thought the Neotec 3 might fix the weight and 'Boom' but after seeing the review by RevZilla I'm not really interested.
