Today, I did find the front brake switch 'stick' causing the cruise control indicator light to begin flashing. The perplexing issue is, why does the CC indicator light go into flashing mode instead of just remaining on as it does when you disengage the CC while riding?

Tried the brake switch suggestions, but both of my brake lights work properly. The flashing problem suggests a relay problem not a switch issue.

Why does the idiot light flash? It doesn't when you squeeze the brake to release the cruise control under proper functioning.
