  1. i just had a pair of Metzeler Roadtec z8 installed after 25k kms on the stock dunlop D222 (almost at the mark on the rear tire and minor cut on the front one). the bike's handling has improved noticibly. Price was ~240EUR ~ 270USD all inclusive. Luc
  2. so i need to buy sidecases since that seems to be the only accountable difference (hopefully the steering damper does what it needs to do) could also be the wind, direction and humidity is at play. Today i learned that with almost no wind, stability was a lot better at higher speed.
  3. hi, i installed the D2122S about 2 months ago and at normal cruising (130km/h) speed, this screen is a really good improvement. At higher speeds (so rather occasionally) the FJ got more sensitive to steer shake even with steering damper turned to increased damping compared to normal. i have the impression that the FJ stock screen does better at high speeds in fact in regard to bike stability. any suggestions to get best of both, good wind protection and still good stability at higher speeds? thanks Luc
  4. i bolted the handguards using the existing handlebar inserts and did not use any spacers or so.
  5. "about the https://www.louis-moto.co.uk/artikel/madhead-hand-guards-with-indicators-univ-black/10019605" i installed these madguards on my tracer and i like the overall look of the bike. For the leds, i soldered the wires into the existing blinker wires left and right and used thermoplastic cable shoes to make the soldering waterproof. you have an extra set of front blinkers and also emergency blinkers work fine. they are far more elegant imho, the length of the steer got reduced compared to the stock versions which i appreciate when filtering between lanes ico traffic jams. you have some wind protection which is sufficient for me (my previous bike had none and i drove winter with it at temp >= 0 degrees celcius. --> so this will be an improvement for me anyway but not sure whether that would suffice for other riders.) the guards attachments that attach around the steer did not fit in my case (to small diameter) so i had to do some extra work but i believe that you can order from 2 different support steer diameter sizes.
