  1. If you can't find one in the states, buying something from the UK works OK. I have purchased a few things from overseas, and shipping costs weren't terrible and it took about a week. You also don't have to pay the VAT (Value Added Tax). This is for Europeans buyers only and should be removed when you get to the payment page.
  2. I purchased a Tutoro unit in 2015 and used it on my V-Strom 650. I removed it when I sold the bike and installed on my 2021 Tracer. I am very happy with how it works. The chain is always lubricated and easy to clean.
  3. I have a BMW Heated Vest that was actually "Made in the USA" by Widder. This was built to last. It is in great condition and works as expected. It has a heavy duty power cord with an on-off switch. It is size Large which is approximately a 42". The power cord end (see picture) is the Merit or Mini Plug. You could cut this off and add a connector that works for you, or add a "Merit DIN 4165 Female Connector" to your bike. This connector is available on Amazon for $7. Another option is the connection fittings at the vest are screw type and the cord could be changed (see picture). And there are other Widder connection options at IBA eStore, click on Widder Parts on the LH side. I am asking $28 plus $17 shipping, $45 total. I will ship in a Priority Mail Medium Flat Rate Box to insure the vest is not twisted or damaged during shipping.
  4. I know my response is late to this problem. The exact same thing happened to me when I was installing my trunk. I slowly drilled the bolt head off and the was easily able to remove the threaded section that remained. It was a fairly quick process. I did stop a couple times to sharpen the drill bit. I vacuumed the shavings from the bike when done.
  5. I want to give you another option that I have on my 2021 Tracer 9GT, a Givi Monokey Mounting Plate SRA2159. Then you can choose any Monokey Top Case. The best pricing I found was here, $224. It was very easy to mount to the bike and I'm happy with it. It is out of stock now, but if you call them they can tell you when it will be in stock. https://tourandride.com/products/sra2159-monokey-rear-rack?_pos=2&_sid=eac643512&_ss=r
  6. If your CP3 engine has a cough or stutter when running at a constant speed down the highway you may have a bad battery. It took two dealers to figure out my problem. I own a 2021 Yamaha Tracer 9GT that I bought new in September 2021. The engine started running weird in August 2022. It would cough/stutter occasionally (every few minutes) when running at a constant speed down the highway. I had over 10,000 miles on the bike and knew something wasn’t right. In September 2022, I took it to the Yamaha dealer in Iowa City, Iowa. I purchased the bike new from them. Their techs rode it and said there was nothing wrong, the bike ran fine. They didn't fix anything, it cost me $169, and I was not a happy customer. This Spring, same problem. I had ridden the bike another 1000 miles and decided to fix it or trade it. I let McGrath's in Cedar Rapids, Iowa look at it. I explained what the bike was doing to the Service Advisor, he listened to me and had a Smart Mechanic work on it. The Mechanic checked the engine for error codes and found 3. These codes made him suspect the battery was faulty. It checked 12.6V but the voltage output was inconsistent, he said probably due to an intermittent short inside the battery. He said this voltage variation caused the engine computer to behave oddly. He replaced the battery under warranty (I had purchased Yamaha’s YES Warranty) and the bike runs like new. I paid the $182 diagnostic fee, and I'm very happy with the results. This bike is now a keeper!!
  7. I am selling a set of Bar Backs or Risers that move the handlebars up 1” and back ¾”. They didn’t help with my shoulder problem so I decided to let another group member see if they would help them. They fit great on my 2021 Tracer 9GT, so should also work on the MT-09. I used the stock brake line by changing the routing slightly and using some zip-ties. They are almost new, I tried them for 1 month. $23 and I will ship them to the lower 48. I’m located in Cedar Falls, Iowa. PM me if interested.
  8. I purchased a 2021 Tracer 9GT in Sept 2021 and this has been an issue since I have owned the bike. When using the cruise control the decel button does not always works correctly. With the CC turned on I get up to speed and hit the set button, and the bike stays at that speed. If I am gaining on someone and hit the decel button one of 3 things happen: - - Nothing, no change in speed - - It slows 1 mph (is supposed to be 2 mph per the manual) - - It correctly slows 2 mph When I hit the decel a second time, it works correctly and drops 2 mph. It does this in any gear. This also happens after I hit resume. I am curious if any others have noticed this? I have an appt with the dealer to look at it.
  9. To clarify how I installed the Shim Kit. 1st - I installed the (4) bolts holding the bracket far enough that they were fully engaged but still very loose. This insured the shims stayed in place. 2nd - I lifted and wiggled the tank to install the (2) bolts. Then I tightened these bolts. Then tightened the (4) bracket bolts. Finally I torqued all bolts and installed all of the plastic. I used the info on jk3d site and also watched this video.
  10. I put 6000 miles on the stock seat and was relatively pleased overall, but found the forward slope annoying. I'm 5'-8" and 150 lbs. I ordered the Pro Kit from jk3d.us (Clegg78). I installed the 6mm Base and it was better, then added the additional 2mm Shim and went on a 1000 mile trip. I really like this change and for $35 shipped I’m very pleased and would recommend this product. If the forward slope bothers you, I would just order the Standard 8mm Shim. I don’t think I will ever remove the 2mm Shim. I did have a little trouble reinstalling the tank bolts but after I loosened all of the mounting bolts it went together fine.
  11. I purchased this to replace a 12 year old Onyx Magnetic Tank Bag. This new one is almost exactly the same size but the new bag uses much better magnets. I just completed a 3100 mile Colorado trip and this thing never moved. It worked great on my 2021 Tracer 9GT and lifts off easily for fuel. I like using maps and this is perfect. The overall quality is very good and the zippers easily slide open and close. I wish it came with a rain cover. $130 from Revzilla
  12. Thanks for posting this video. After watching it, I rotated my handlebars back slightly and adjusted the brake lever to use my finger tips. Big improvement in brake feel.
  13. My dealer completed both recalls and on the first ride the Check Engine light stayed on. The system said the O2 sensor was bad so they replaced it and the bike runs great. I think it runs better than before and I agree with others, the QuickShifter is amazing.
  14. I agree the locking mechanism on the cases seem cheap. The locks turn hard and the way they latch to the bike feels like something is going to break. When I purchased my bike one of the locks was broken and they replaced the complete case. I hope these aren't a problem as they age.
  15. Hi TomTracer, Here is my original post about purchasing Pyramid Fender Extenders direct from the factory in the UK. I also purchased an Evotech Radiator Guard direct from the UK. Good pricing and delivery speed is not bad.
  16. Thought I should mention that when the dealer completed my 600 mile check-up they did fill the oil correctly to the line in the sight glass. It was not overfilled. The spec for the 2021 Tracer 9 GT is 3.38 qts with a new filter, and 2.96 qts without a filter change.
  17. I am not sure why they used 2 drain bolt gaskets. I thought the same thing when I posted this, did not really pay attention at the time. I will ask when I take it in for the recall. As for the 4 quarts of oil instead of 3.4, as you probably know this is normal shop practice to round up.
  18. I had the dealer perform my 600 mile check-up and he installed the exact Yamaha filter you list. Here are the items he replaced at this check: Oil Filter, Drain Plug Gasket, and 10W40 Oil.
  19. I would think that the Sliders for a 2021 Tracer 9GT and MT-09 would be identical. This area of the bike and engine are the same. But you should check the site or contact the manufacturer to be sure.
  20. I was not aware of this. I just searched and the Hit-Air site does recommend replacing the jacket after 6 years. Rebecca at Hit-Air Moto recommended pulling the tether and having the jacket fill once a year to insure the bag works. This would give me confidence that the air bladder functions correctly and still holds CO2. Looking at the information at this site it looks like they inflate it for inspection and service. Which makes sense to insure the system works. https://www.hitairequestrian.com/product/hit-air-vest-servicing/ I imagine that all airbag jackets and vests have a similar life expectancy.
  21. If you do make a video pulling the rip cord - Post it here because I want to see it. 🙂
  22. Hi TomTracer, I just went to their site and searched for the part numbers and they have both in stock. They remove the VAT Tax when you get to the Shipping page. If you add them to your cart, click on Checkout, then on the Shipping page - change the shipping country to United States and hit enter, the VAT Tax is removed and it shows the price you pay. https://pyramid-plastics.co.uk Rear Fender Hugger Extension # 072452 Front Fender Extender # 052449
  23. They provide both and give you the option. Included are a sheet of adhesive pads with instructions to clamp for 12 hours, and they also provide 4 mechanical pins. I have not mounted these yet but plan to just use the adhesive pads.
  24. I just purchased a Hit-Air Mottorad-2 Jacket, it has airbags that inflate if you accidentally leave your motorcycle. I live in Iowa and due to the large number of deer in our state we have many vehicle/deer accidents. Two of my riding buddies have hit deer while on their bikes. After watching Ryan FortNine’s video (attached) and reading “maximNikenGT’s” posts on this site I decided to contact Rebecca at Hit-air Moto of South Carolina, 803-528-9165. She is the owner of Hit Air Sport Inc and really knows her product, very helpful and easy to talk to. This jacket replaces my current TourMaster Jacket. I was concerned about the weight of the Hit-Air jacket but it actually weights the same as the old one, right at 5 lbs. I have only worn the new jacket on two rides and it is comfortable. It has vents on the sleeves, chest, and back and I’m sure these will help in warmer weather. I also attached a video of a guy hitting a deer while wearing a Hit-Air vest. He was also wearing a GoPro. He had almost no injuries. The accident happens in the first 30 seconds of the video. Here is Hit-Air’s Motorcycle Line of Jackets and Vests. https://www.hit-air.com/en/motorcycle/lineup/jacket_vest/
  25. I decided to purchased Pyramid Front and Rear Fender extensions direct from the manufacturer after having a good experience buying a Radiator Guard direct from Evotech. Pyramid extensions have great reviews from many customers and they were hard to find in the US for my 2021 Tracer. Rear Fender Hugger Extension # 072452 was 24.99 GBP ($32.76) Front Fender Extender # 052449 was 18.33 GBP ($24.03) Shipping 17.99 GBP ($23.59) No VAT for items shipped to the US. Total was $80.38 It took 12 days for delivery with Royal Mail and then USPS in the States. https://pyramid-plastics.co.uk/
