Just took my first chilly ride today with my new Lee Parks gloves… and they’re not enough. Looking for the OEM heated grips that fit and plug into a 2015 FJ09. Thank you!

Sigh… I’m at a loss here. I bought a new old stock Givi PLR2122 side case holder from a Canadian shop on eBay and one of the bolts that connect the mounting pegs to the bike came with flattened threads. So that means I’ve only been able to mount 3 out of 4 pegs to the bike so only one of my new Dolomiti cases can be mounted. I originally reached out to Givi USA and was told (by customer service rep Mark) since the side case holder had been bought from Canada I would need to reach out to the Canadian distributor. Mark said he’d check if there were any bolts around but I would need to do that in the meantime. I offered to even buy the bolt which is listed in the instructions as a TSPXT M8x40. The bolt is essentially an M8-1.25 x 40 socket head bolt with a low profile small head. I bought the bags in the US. Since Mark stopped responding to my emails: -I found the distributor information and sent an email only to be pinged back saying the email address doesn’t exist. -I have spoken to the original dealer I purchased from and was told to try to find it at a bolt store. -I have spoken to Givi Italy (accidentally) and was told to contact the distributor in Canada and was given proper contact information. -I spoke to the distributor and was told they are only an importer and do not sell anything to the public. -I’ve gone to two Lowes’ and Home Depot and no one carries something close. The bolt is clearly an M8-1.25 x 40 but more importantly the head of the bolt is low profile and small to fit inside the mounting peg. I’m stuck. If I try to return the side case holder I have nothing to mount my new bags and more importantly it’s going to cost a lot of money to return something to Canada. Does anyone have any suggestions or maybe a spare bolt that would fit this thing? I’m blown away as to how terrible Givi’s customer service has been so far. I’m just looking for ONE bolt. I might be interested in the PLR2122 Rapid Release Side Case Racks if they’re still available.

I wish it wasn’t raining so I could go double check this hasn’t happened to me. I have a V Stream sport that is more loose than I think it should be.

The SRC plate does look pretty nice. I have a red FJ09 though so I think a black guard would look best, the silver seems to clash with the look.

Now I have another forum to get lost in… thanks for the recommendations, I know at some point most roads lead to Aerostich.

Is the general consensus that the SW Motech seems to be the best plate for these bikes? I have a 2015 and this thread made me realize I may want to consider adding some protection underneath…

Thank you for the detailed response. Did you order the AD1s as is and add the Transit pads later, or can you order the AD1 pants with the Transit pads?

I’m VERY tempted by Aerostich pants. The price is up there but they’re a name I’ve heard thrown around since I began riding.

I haven’t heard a bad thing about Klim yet. Not sure how inclined I am to get jeans again but I’ll look into them.

I wanted to make sure I followed up on this thread in case anyone in the future was looking into a T-Rex rack for an FJ09. After having to exchange twice due to the racks not remotely lining up with install points I ultimately returned and gave up for a while. T-Rex’s customer service was top tier and allowed me to return no questions asked. Two separate racks would not line up with the mounting points on the bike. Even with someone helping me put pressure on the rack while trying to tighten down the bolts I was unable to successfully mount the rack to the FJ09. After speaking to their customer service and providing photos it was clear that the rack was the issue. All in all I would say Trex’s customer service did a great job but I would not recommend this rack for anyone looking for one for an FJ09.

I’m interested to give it a test ride. I (like I’m sure most here) would rather see something like the R7 but with a CP3 in there. I’d probably find a reason to need a second bike then.

Looking for suggestions for what pants everyone is wearing for riding. I have a pair of riding jeans from Alpinestars but I’m honestly not a fan. Looking into great pants for summer but also interested in protection for the colder weather. So long story short, what pants are you wearing while riding?

I’m 30 but found this forum well before I bought an FJ09. It was clear that this place was THE go to for any information on the Tracer/ FJ09. Never even looked for a Facebook group. Everyone I know seems to like the FJ a lot and ask me plenty of questions about it. Haven’t met an MT09 rider yet but I never even considered it vs the FJ09… to me it was obvious the FJ09 was a much better all around motorcycle.

Can’t believe how small that folds up! I got a small chair from Amazon after one of my riding buddies showed up to camp with it. Figure if it fits on his Street Triple it will fit on my bike. It’s a little larger than the one you have listed but I was able to get a two pack for around 60 usd. I can’t get the link to work, only links right back to this page. But it’s the Moon Lence Ultralight Chair two pack on Amazon.

For those that have (or have had) an earlier FJ09 with a Corbin seat… do you have a rear rack you recommend that fits with the seat? I initially went with a rear rack from T-Rex racing but after having to exchange twice due to the racks not remotely lining up with install points I ultimately returned and gave up for a while. When I had my second rack from them (that still wouldn’t fit correctly) I had just got my Corbin seat in the mail and learned that even if the rack would install correctly that the Corbin seat wouldn’t work with it. Besides my issues T-Rex’s customer service was top tier and allowed me to return no questions asked. I digress… I’m looking for a rack similar in style that has a flat top for my Kriega US30 dry bag that fits with the Corbin seat. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

My pillion is closer to 100 lbs and the stock suspension does not like slow maneuvering with her on there. This is an original 2015 FJ09 though but regardless if you’re adding weight to the back you need a new suspension.

Awesome ride! I was out there recently but unfortunately the FJ09 had to stay on the east coast. My FJ09 came with soft Givi Bags that are starting to split at the seams so I’m looking at different options. How do you feel about those Junior Hepco & Becker cases after having them for a few years? I really like the look of them.

I have a Kriega US-30 that I put on the back of my FJ09 often. It’s strapped to the Givi saddlebag adapter though. I thought someone on here said they were able to run the straps around the frame on the rear but not sure if it was a newer Tracer or older model like mine. These bags roll up small so I would definitely recommend considering the US-10 over the US-5 in case you ever needed to add a little more. When not fully packed I barely feel that my US-30 is on there.

Did an overnight camping trip last weekend out in Western MD. Had a blast but made me realize that the windshield is going to have to go.
