  1. I wish I could pick one up (Schuberth) but as of last week the only sizes left were Tiny Tim and Jolly Green giant! (Update, only size now is Jolly Green Giant). I did snag a Hi-Viz yellow jacket at half price. Okay, it does say Triumph on it, but what the heck. It's very comfortable and I decided it was time to be as visible as possible, regardless of the "cool factor" or lack thereof. Condolences to Cruzin' on the loss of his friend. That's a terrible shame. You must live somewhere where riding without a helmet is still legal in this day and age?
  2. After I wrote my first post here in December saying the bike, at 18 months, had the original battery still going strong, by February it wasn't and replaced it with a lithium battery.
  3. Beautiful. And aside from being very shiny, how do you like it?
  4. Had the bike for 18 months and 21,000 miles. Battery still going strong but I know I just jinxed it by writing this!
  5. Although I remain decidedly anti-beak, it occurred to me that if motorcycling was only about function and practicality, Harley's wouldn't have made it past 1962! So if it lights your fuse, then go for it!
  6. I guess the consensus of the group is we'll have to live with it! It's very noticeable on my FJ-09 which now has 21,000 miles on it. My last Yamaha was a 1993 TDM 850 which I rode from new until 2015...22 years. And it never rattled like this one. Progress? I'm not sure I'd call it that.
  7. Seriously? Whatever. I can't believe there aren't some aerodynamic consequences to installing this giant piece of plastic.
  8. Interesting....so far two of three replies say it has happened to them too. For now, I'm writing it off as an ECU brain fart.
  9. Here's one I don't think I've seen here before. For the second time in about a month, when I re-started my bike today after about an hour lunch break in the middle of my afternoon ride, the idle raced up to about 2,700 RPM and wouldn't settle down. Blipped the throttle a couple of times, still wouldn't drop to its normal 1,100 rpm idle. Rode it anyway thinking with a little riding it would drop back down. 20 minutes and two stop signs later it was still idling at 2,700 RPM. Stopped and turned it off for a couple of minutes, restarted and it was back to normal. I have no idea what caused this or if anybody else has had this experience. But anything that makes me think the throttle might have a mind of its own is a little disconcerting. Is the next step an engine that won't drop below 5,000 RPM??
  10. My Shoei Quest is WAY noisier than my Bell Whatever that cost me half as much. Just sayin....
  11. Wessie is exactly right. Both are now Roadsmart 2 and I had no stability issues at all with the RS2 on the back and original tire on the front.
  12. Which model of tire are you replacing it with? Dunlap Roadsmart II...basically the US version of the original tire. If it ain't broke....
  13. Just changed my original front tire with 10,900 miles on the bike.! Pretty good, huh? (Original rear lasted 6,500).
