  1. Here's a clear picture of an Ohlins with remote resevoir mount.
  2. Sorted! I had to do mine separately- the drain plug is attached to the aftermarket skid plate mounting bracket. I've had a few dedicated track bikes in my past, and feel better about wiring my Tracer the same way. I'm open to criticism!
  3. Glad you did- I'm researching front end upgrades for my 2020 Tracer 900GT for the winter. Have you made any choices yet?
  4. @betony- thanks for the feedback and recommendation. I've never tried a Penske shock, and was disappointed with my Ohlin's short life span between services on my previous bike.
  5. @Smokamoto: I appreciate the pic and your helpful post.
  6. Ddog gt: were you satisfied with the Penske? Would you buy one again over the alternatives? Appreciate any owner feedback you might offer.
  7. As long as I'm doing an oil change, I'd like peace of mind and safety wire the factory oil drain (along with new crush washer). I already safety wire my oil filter with a hose clamp around it's circumference. I don't like or trust aftermarket drilled alloy race bolts- anyone else do this?
  8. Shoei RF1200 here, but for my next helmet I wonder if MIPS floating liner will be standard in all helmets. Currently only Bell, Klim, and two others have it- will it be licensed to Shoei and Arai and others in the future? A Mips or Multi-directional Impact Protection System is a low-friction layer located between the EPS and inner helmet liner that reduces rotational impact forces. This helps protect your brain from concussion and trauma.
  9. Thank you so much for the info and added pics- it's a great help. Seeing them, it makes my decision easy to go with the full length square tubing compressor. I've been frustrated before doing fork disassembly with somewhat improvised tools. Riding season's underway here, and I'm not leaving my forks off at a suspension place for this service, so I'll invest in the proper tools. Again- much appreciate your advice and I hope it helps others.
  10. Excellent, a clear simpler and cheaper alternative. Question is- if you're doing this alone, how do you hold the fork leg down for support? Critical to hold it securely, so that you can apply pressure with this tool. Square tubing full length support type tool for $80 more. The chinese version even uses RaceTech's same part number! I've disassembled forks before, most easy, some difficult. The tool choice depends on how much tension the springs are. If not much, that simple ring tool will work. If Tracer 900GT fork springs happen to be the opposite, then the full length compressor tool is the way to go. I don't know yet. Did you do this yourself with that ring tool?
  11. There's this chinese knock off fork tool I found, for $140- hard to tell if it's adequate. Might well be, for a single use: https://www.ebay.com/itm/185771669849
  12. Looking into this further. Racetech fork spring compressor tool, and damper bleeding tool add up to around $300! Pricey for a tool that I'm probably only going to use one time. Add in the replacement springs, oil, and I'm around $450. Is there an alternative spring compressor tool? https://racetech.com/page/title/IP FK CAP INSTALL STREET
  13. Question- do you have any recommendations for fork service in the Chicago/midwest area? I just want to replace my fork springs/oil on my stock 5K mile 2020 Tracer- probably Racetech springs. I've had good luck with Trackside Engineering in WI on a previous bike's Ohlins shock. Any shop closer that's good? https://tracksidesuspension.com/services/
  14. I have the front extender on my 2020 GT, and feel it was worthwhile. Recommended. The available rear, however, I passed on because it appears way too short to be effective. Wish that there was another choice.
  15. Experience any issues cracking loose and then bleeding the lines to the ABS junctions?
