  1. I have lowered my 2019 standard tracer 900 1" with shorter doglegs. I pulled the fork tubes up about .5". Tried more at first but it turned in too fast in corners. I have full ohlins front and back so was able to dial in a bit more compression damping and it made it just right . Lowered it because I am only 5-8 and, let's say, past my prime. Made a big difference in coming to stops and slow maneuvers. I have also reshaped the seat to make it flatter which is a personal comfort issue but also helps.
  2. Just to be different again. The foam on the stock seat is not bad it just locks your ass into what the designers must feel is the perfect placement (usually a styling decision). Staying in one position builds butt cheek hot spots. In the old days seats were flat so you could move around. If you are handy with tools and have a 4.5" grinder or random orbital sander you can flatten out the stock seat and for me with no real ass flesh it is good for 500 miles I have had multiple corbin, saddlemen and sargeant seats. None worked as well for my puny butt as just flattening the stock seat to my own tastes.
  3. I have been screwing around with windshields, fairings etc for 50 years. Vetter, Pacifico, Rifle, National Cycle, Slipstreamer, Puig and others I can't remember across the US, Canada,Western and Eastern Europe. On my tracer I tried the stock with MRA deflector, V Stream sport touring, V stream with MRA, Puig and they all either beat me or my ears up (at this age I can't afford to do that). Part of the problem I think is the factory mounting hardware. Once buffeting starts it sets up a harmonic motion that's like the old motels with the vibrating bed (sorry you younger guys missed this exotic era). So after screwing around since I had a trip coming up to east coast and outer banks, I broke down and bought a MadStad system. NOTHING AND I MEAN NOTHING compares to this set up. No ear plugs, no vibration, no buffeting and when I got stuck for a 100 miles or so of good rain I could watch the rain drops fly over my head. I wear a Shark Evo One helmet which is noisy but I can and did ride with the chin bar pulled back (only one certified to do so). Best 300 bucks I have ever spent on a motorcycle.
