Nope. Honda no longer has the wool pulled over my eyes. The last time they got me was the CB1100. How Honda, managed to dumb down an eleven hundred cc, four cylinder motor, is beyond me. And to top it off, govern the top speed to 110. But to also make such a stunningly beautiful motorcycle so bland and boring, was all I could take. I get it. This NT is a different flavor to that CB. But what Honda excels at these days, is....*yawn*... putting people to sleep....

Different strokes for different folks, but I find the thoughts of this bike, well...*yawn* a bit boring. Hell, I find my Tracer to be on the barely minimum side of the scale. I can't imagine going further backwards.

Got this installed last night. It made more of a difference than the washer mod. And looks like it's supposed to be there, when you have to look at it. Big thumbs up!!!

I had a 2016 GXS-S1000F before I got my Tracer. That K5 motor is terrific. Brakes and chassis were good. Front suspenders were okay, awful stock shock. But here is where it really lost me. The ergonomics. I'm not ancient, only 45, but I live with a lot of lower body injuries. Peg/seat was too close, even with different seat and pegs. The stretch to the bars, even with risers, I still wasn't a fan. And basically no wind/weather protection, even with a larger shield. If it was a second, have fun bike, it might still be with me, but I'm now a one bike guy. And no regrets with the Tracer.

Well, if it means anything, I bought a $25 rad grill off eBay. Installed it yesterday. Cheap piece of mind...

I get the stylistic side of design. Honestly, this bike is hideous, bringing about deep seeded, long thought to be completely dormant, never to return, feelings I got the first time I saw the initial renderings of the V-Strom. The W800/650 are truly beautiful machines to my eye. But there is a beauty in functionality, as well. And to me, that's obviously where I find the beauty in the Tracer. I guess I just 'lucked out' because my local dealer wouldn't take the W800 in on trade for a left-over 2020 GT. I looked at a dealerships website that I knew of that was 90 miles away, and they still had the 2019, for over $2,000 less, and willing to take the W800 in on trade, for the price I wanted. The ride home decidedly did not feel as adventurous as the ride to the dealership. Go figure...

So, I ended up trading in a 2020 Kawasaki W800 for this bike. I really thought I was getting to the point of 'slowing down' on a bike, but it was just boring. Unfortunately, lots of lower body injuries thins down what I can ride for any length of time. I had a very brief ride on a first year FZ-09. I wasn't impressed with the frontend or the on/off switch for a throttle. But, I kept an eye on these bikes when Yamaha brought them out. So, glad I did. It's just a terrific bike, as you all well know.
