  1. I’ve got a Sprint GT and the wife does the same. I’d like to get something else simply because of the bulk of the Sprint makes it hard work on smaller roads. Thats why I enjoyed the brief shot I had on the Tracer. However Mrs S didn’t like it. I’m hoping the GS will be better but if push comes to shove I’ll keep the Triumph. We go out a lot together since I retired and if she’s not keen on going pillion there’s not a lot of point even owning a bike.
  2. Don’t think that wasn’t considered but it’s stone pillars with wooden posts between. As it is I think I’ll have to move the posts to behind the pillars rather than on the side. Which means a new gate. Yes I know a narrower bike would solve all my problems but where’s the fun in that?
  3. The Tracer would have fitted fine but the GS is gonna be a squeeze. I’ve found bars from Germany that are a bolt on swap and are 44mm narrower (yes it’s as tight as that). I could of course fit Helibars but they are nearly 600 quid so bugger that.
  4. Unfortunately the Tracer is a no. I loved it and would have had it in a heartbeat. However Mrs S didn’t feel comfortable pillion and as we go out regularly I need to take that into consideration. I get a test on the GS next Friday but if it suits us both that’s what I’ll go for. I was impressed by the Tracer tho and can see why you lot like them.
  5. Hi all. I’ve already posted asking for advice without even test riding the bike. So I’ll either be looking/posting on here or I’ll disappear without trace depending how it goes 🤔 Anyway I live in SE Scotland. Trading in a Sprint GT for something a bit lighter.
  6. Thanks. Thats a big help. I’m having a test ride on a 2018 bike tomorrow. I’m still undecided so had also booked a ride on a GS 1200 till I got home and measured the back gate and realised it wouldn’t go through. I’ll need to measure the Tracer tomorrow but hopefully it’ll go through a 910 mm gap.
  7. Hi all. im considering buying a 2018 Tracer GT. One dealbreaker is space on the seat if I fit a rear rack and topbox as myself and wife aren’t particularly svelte. Does the box intrude on the seat or is it level with the back of the seat? Anyone fitted one and could put up a pic? Cheers
